To me , being your own kind of beautiful of course starts within , especially with your mental state. How you treat and speak with others , are you inspiring  , loyal , respectful ? Being your own kind of beautiful is when you inspire those around you with your consideration, loyalty , kindness , knowledge and overall love.

My advice to someone who just started modeling is to NOT GIVE UP! It can be hard not to get disheartened with rejection/not booking gigs. But you MUST believe in yourself with full confidence and keep going. If you keep your head up and confidence high, it will be hard for you to not succeed! I also recommend reaching out/collaborating with as many local photographers as possible so you don’t have to pay too much money just to start a portfolio, it’s also a good way to get your name out! And of course, find a good reputable agency that you fit in to! :)

My mother always taught me that if everyone was the same, the world would be boring. Being different and having confidence within yourself is key to developing yourself. Make sure you love yourself because at the end of the day only you can make your own decisions and push for yourself to achieve everything in life. Learning to love yourself and being confident within your ability will allow you to be the best YOU.

My biggest dream for modeling would probably be to walk in New York Fashion, model for Sports Illustrated and be pretty well known in the modeling and fashion community, while also inspiring young girls and showing that they can be whoever they want to be, they just got to believe in themselves.

My biggest advice is what is meant for you will not pass you. This industry can be difficult, and sometimes there can be disappointment, just like with anything in life. However, it is important to keep trying and if something doesn’t happen for you, that means that it is because there is something better around the corner.

I’m 22 years old and from Atlanta, Georgia! I graduated from Auburn University with a BFA in Studio Art, and when I’m not on the runway I’m up in my studio painting! Growing up, I loved to go take pictures with my friends, and in the back of my head I always felt like I was meant to be in front of the camera in one way or another. In high school I was a theater kid and adored being on stage, so when I got to college I made the transition from the stage to the runway and haven’t looked back since!

Everything takes time, and you’re still figuring who you are as a person. But I think a big part of finding your confidence is to always love who you are in the moment, be knowledgeable of your flaws, but also be knowledgeable of your strengths and love that about yourself. Don’t think about what it is on the outside, but the positivity and  the kindness that you bring to others that comes from the inside.

Everything you could ever need, you already have. Everything you could ever want, you already are! If you are struggling with your confidence, that's okay. You are NOT alone. Be kind to yourself and remind yourself everyday that you are as beautiful and radiant as you want to be until you start to believe it. My advice for new models is to really stay true to yourself, your style, your soul. Use every opportunity as a stepping stone and learning experience. Lean on other models in the industry! Ask questions, no question is a silly question. Have a few models around you that you really respect and admire, you’ll learn very quickly that with the right group of girls/agency there is no competition! Lastly, confidence looks best on you.

Comparison is a thief of joy, it destroys your confidence. It can be hard to be confident when your self esteem has taken a beating, but you have to remember that no one looks like you. You are one in a million and that’s a great thing and something no one can take from you.

I would say to just have fun! At the end of the day, it will always be a learning experience and everyone has room to continuously grow. Try some self-confidence practices like practicing your poses in the mirror, learning to get more comfortable in front of the camera, etc. Find a pretty white wall and have a friend take some photos of you!

I’ve struggled with being confident in myself for years, until I realized that life’s too short to worry about what others think of me. If you’re passionate about something, my advice is to go out there and do it! You’ll never know what you might learn, who you’ll meet, or where it’ll lead you.
