Tell us about yourself:

My name is Catherine, but you can call me Cat! I am from Roswell, GA and I am 22 years old!

What is your biggest dream?

My biggest dream is to become an important enough voice and force make an impactful difference on saving the environment. Land and Sea. I would love to spread awareness to the harm that’s being done to the planet and ways we can help it instead.

And, of course, as a model to walk the VS fashion show. ;)

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

I believe being your own kind of beautiful means wholeheartedly loving yourself for you. It means you care for yourself and appreciate the beauty within and out. It means that you love and fully accept the unique things about you that set you apart from the rest, and flourish its strengths and talents.

How would you describe your fashion style?

My fashion style 100% depends on the day!  Mostly on what I’m doing. I like to dress for the occasion, as I'm passionate about the arts and aesthetics. Recently I’ve been incorporating a lot of 90s influence into my style, and I always love a good grungy all black outfit. When I’m outdoors/in warm environments I love to dip into a more indie, earthy vibe.

Who or what inspires you?

I have lots of inspiration for different areas of my life. When I feel hopeless, my inspiration is shark attack survivor Bethany Hamilton, who continued to surf after losing her arm.

When I feel my strong nose could hold me back in modeling/on camera success, I am inspired by models like Gisele Buchden and Candice Swanepool, two supermodels with stronger noses who are wildly successful.

I am also inspired by Bella Hadid, as I love all her work and what she stands for, and I think she has carried herself with lots of grace in the modeling industry.

Lastly, I also find most of my inspiration in my parents and family. All I want is to make them proud and give back to them what they have blessed me with. I am so grateful to have such amazing supportive family and peers.

What advice would you give to someone who is just getting started in modeling?

My advice to someone who just started modeling is to NOT GIVE UP! It can be hard not to get disheartened with rejection/not booking gigs. But you MUST believe in yourself with full confidence and keep going. If you keep your head up and confidence high, it will be hard for you to not succeed! I also recommend reaching out/collaborating with as many local photographers as possible so you don’t have to pay too much money just to start a portfolio, it’s also a good way to get your name out! And of course ,find a good reputable agency that you fit in to! :)

Describe some obstacles you have faced and how they have shaped you:

In the past, I have struggled with depression and anxiety. In middle school I was moved to a private school where I didn’t know anyone and certainly didn’t fit it, and it was a really hard time for me. Through new friends, a better environment and art I was able to overcome and haven’t dealt with those emotions in negative ways since and also discovered how important art was in my life.

I also tried out for the Varsity Softball Team at my high school without any real previous experience. I trained very hard with a good friend & player for months before tryouts and I made the team on my first try and played junior and senior year! Even though I’ve always done sports and been athletic, this was monumental for me as I’d never picked up a sport so quick and accomplished a milestone like that!

What makes you beautiful?

I think on the inside, what makes me beautiful is my perception, empathy, determination and compassion. I care so deeply for friends, loved ones, and all living things. I’ve always felt emotions very deeply, which allows me to comfort and help people when others don’t know they need it. I will always give a helping hand to a just cause. I also love  my resilience because when I put my mind to something, I will get it done. When I want something, I get it.

On the outside, my favorite features are my long blonde hair and my gray eyes. I’m also covered in moles, including a beauty mark below my left eye which I think adds uniqueness to my beauty. I’m also proud of my beautiful European roots. My father is Polish-Italian, and my mother is german-scandinavian.

What advice would you give to someone who is struggling with their confidence?

Number one please don’t compare yourself to others. Most of what we see online these days isn’t real anyways. Two, you must love yourself and understand what makes you unique. These are the things that make you beautiful because they are special to you and set you apart from the rest. Never seek validation from others, as beauty is the in the eye of the beholder. You must always find your sense of confidence and worth from within. Always believe in yourself!
