Tell us about yourself

Hi, my name is Bianca G! I am 18 years old and I am originally from Medford, New Jersey. My high school experience was not a normal one or one that I had envisioned for myself. My dad passed away from cancer when I was 15, changing my life completely. I had to move from the town I loved to beautiful, sunny Florida, right in the middle of high school. I was so sad I had to leave my friends behind but so grateful for all the opportunities Florida has given me. I work at Salon Zen Aveda as an assistant currently but plan on starting cosmetology school at Paul Mitchell over the summer.

What is your biggest dream?

My biggest dream is to feel happy and confident in doing what I love the most. I dream of opening my own salon one day, as well as being a successful model. I am also very passionate about writing, and hope to one day publish my own book.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

To be your own kind of beautiful, to me, means that you feel confident with yourself from the inside out. To love yourself for who you are, not who society wants you to be. To be your own person without fear of judgment from others.

How would you describe your fashion style?

I personally love to mix up my fashion style! I am a very spiritual person, always feeling the energy and vibes that each day brings me, which, of course, calls for a certain look! I love to be edgy one day, then more girly the next. It just depends on how I’m feeling!

Who or what inspires you?

MY SISTERS! I have two sisters, one older and one younger. They are my biggest inspiration and my biggest cheerleaders. They support me with everything I do. They inspire me every day to become a better person because of their strength, determination, and righteousness.

What have been your greatest accomplishments?

My greatest accomplishments would be receiving many scholarships on my days as a competitive dancer, as much hard work and sacrifice was put into receiving them. I am also proud of myself for the way I handled life’s obstacles and just my overall positive outlook on life.

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.

My biggest obstacle that I had to face was when my dad passed away when I was only 15. I had to learn a new lifestyle and reality at a young age, processing my dad’s departure while still trying to live like a normal teenager. I made sure from that point on that I would never take anything for granted, my health, my family, my freedom, etc.

What makes you beautiful/handsome?:

What makes me beautiful is the way I am able to engage and interact with others. I love how I am able to embrace each individual with my love and curiosity. I love asking questions and knowing more about the individuals around me so that they know just how significant they are to this world!

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?:

I would tell any young boy or girl who is struggling with their confidence to find peace with who they are and realize their purpose. No one is you, and that is your power! One’s beauty does not take away from your own. Your mind is such a powerful tool that you need to carry with you for the rest of your life, it is important to train it well and not consume it with toxic thoughts! Be the best version of yourself and you will be sure to find happiness and strength.
