Tell us about yourself:

My name is Alyssa L. I am from beautiful Southern California and I am 19 years old.

Tell us about your modeling experience:

I started modeling right out of high school in October 2023, since then I have been determined to make this dream a career. I have been dancing since I was 2 years old, training and competing across many styles, so the precision under pressure of the industry is perfect for me.

What is your biggest dream?

My biggest dream is to be doing what I truly love and have a passion for the rest of my life.

Describe your fashion style:

My fashion style is very relaxed. Active wear is my best friend since I am a dance teacher and always in the gym. When I’m not in the gym I enjoy being vey modern and chic with a touch of masculine edge.

Who or what inspires you?

My inspiration is my dance students. Teaching ages 2-18 can be very humbling but is certainly rewarding.

What advice would you give to someone who is just starting out in modeling?

My advice to someone just starting out would be to keep persistent, continue working hard even if it feels everything is against you. Perseverance is the road to success.

Describe some obstacles you have faced and how have they changed you?

I struggled with a lot, tough upbringing, toxic relationships, and self image issues. I was depressed, anxious, and struggling with addiction. Eventually, I found myself at a crossroads, stay with addiction and let it win or make a change. I decided to make a change and reach out for help. I went through a ton of intensive therapy, continuing to show up to appointments even when life would get in the way. Thankfully, I have amazing parents as well, that were alongside me on my journey. I was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder one year ago. Having the answer to what I’ve been struggling with everyday didn’t suddenly cure me, its still a lot of work. Yet, I am determined to prove all of the stigmas wrong about BPD. I believe everyone regardless of their past, you are capable of redemption and making a positive impact.

What makes you beautiful?

What makes me beautiful is my compassion and empathy for others. My struggles have instilled within me a deep empathy for others. I am committed to loving others unconditionally.

What would you say to someone who is struggling with their confidence?

If you are struggling with confidence I would say, recognize your self worth and know that others, even people more accomplished than you are wondering the same things. Everybody is their own worst critic.
