Tell us about yourself :

My name is Jo-Anne, you can call me Jo. I was born and raised in Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa. I love to travel, have an entreprenurial spirit and fashion and modeling is my passion. I am currently ta Miss Universe Canada Delegate and the founder of Sobreo, the world's first ultra premium mixer.

Tell us about your modeling experience.

I started modeling as a teen in South Africa and worked in the UK as a fittings model. I am now back in the industry, excited for this new chapter!

What is your biggest dream?

To walk the Victoria Secret Fashion Show runway and model for Chanel.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

That beauty is in the eye of the beholder. One needs to love themself first and foremost to feel beautiful from the inside out.

How would you describe your fashion style?

Depends on the day. Either super casual California  boho vibe or high end fashion black, lace and leather. I am Ying and Yang.

Who or what inspires you? Experiences inspire me.

I strive for progress not perfection as no human is perfect. I am inspired by creators and innovators.

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?

You do you. Don’t change who you are, you will attract the people and opportunities in your life that were meant to happen organically.

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.

One I had to learn fast and hard is that I am naturally tall and should embrace my height! Having accepted this has changed my life for the better in wanting to be seen instead of hiding in the background or thinking and feeling I need to shrink myself and my confidence to fit in.

What makes you beautiful.

Having a genuinely pure, kind disposition first and foremost.  And, your body is a temple, what you put in you get out. Eat well, work out, and get plenty of sleep.

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence? To try and negate the negative thoughts your mind creates, push them out the way to make room for your confidence to grow
