Tell us about yourself

Hello, my name is Ian Friske I am a student at the University of Minnesota studying International Business, Entreprenurial management and Spanish. I am a published fashion designer and show producer for Minnesota Fashion week. I enjoy cooking and baking, i used to work at a Michelin restaurant in Minneapolis  which progressed my passion towards food and pastry. I went to an immersion school when I was younger and now fluently speak Spanish.

Tell us about your modeling experience.
I have been published in a few magazines like Amidst, Juzi, Golden Magazine, and Star tribune. I have walked in shows for Minnesota fashion week, Hmong fashion shows like- Fresh traditions. I have been in a total of 20 fashion shows in the last 9 months all of which have been local shows. I have done many editorial shoots, many of which I have helped produce, style, and model.

What is your biggest dream?
My biggest dream is to become a fashion icon, I want to become a world-renowned designer and eventually work for a couture house as the creative director of the brand, and eventually start my own couture house.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?
To me it's about matching the beautiful inside with the outside. Aligning the soul and body and being confident in oneself.

Who or what inspires you?
Other creative. I am so inspired by old Houte couture houses and sustainability as a model I am inspired by my peers and the collaborations that come of our creativity. I enjoy so many things; nature, cooking and baking, design, styling, makeup etc. it's hard to decide what inspired me the most.

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?
Keep trying, it's amazing what can be accomplished when you believe in yourself, and how your manifestations on what you want to become come into reality.

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.
I had a mentally rough childhood, and first year of college. Physically destructive and had no balance in my life. However, without those obstacles it has allowed me to overcome some of my diagnoses and to come out confident, kind and compassionate. It has allowed me to see the beauty in the surroundings and to enjoy life as a whole.

What makes you beautiful/handsome?
I would say my charm, I am a very extroverted person and I enjoy conversing with so many kinds of people. It has helped me be more confident my compassion towards people has made me handsome and beautiful I enjoy the serene and I enjoy being surrounded by beautiful. individuals.

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?
It's all about being kind towards yourself, give yourself grace and leniency you only have one you and that's perfect in itself. Confidence truly is maybe about faking it you cannot get to anywhere in life without having some self-esteem and it's all about continuing to build your esteem and to do things that make you the most confident.
