Tell us about yourself

ι was born and raised in the south side of Chicago, Illinois. ι am 24 years old and work in the healthcare field as an injury prevention specialist. I did my studies at Western Illinois University and graduated with my Bachelor’s degree in May 2021. I am obsessed with all shades of pink, anything floral, and being a fur mama to my rescue Dorkie (Dachshund-Yorkie) named Nina.

Tell us about your modeling experience.

I have 4 years in my modeling journey as a petite model. I love doing runway and enjoy being in front of the camera. Being a model has always been a dream of mine and did not think it was possible growing up. Over the years, I’ve made a name for myself in runway modeling in Chicago being recognized as a Top Runway model. This year, I got the chance to walk in my first ever NYFW through HiTechMODA walking for their house brand. In Chicago, I have walked in over 15+ fashion shows and for designers like House of Chelsea B, aakofii, Jay Robertson, and more. Promo modeling was another check off the list this year being a model in Indianapolis for the NBA ALL-STAR weekend.

 What is your biggest dream?

My biggest dream is making my name a legacy in the modeling industry. I would love to be known as a Top Petite Model all over the world. Being a petite model is not easy at times, but I will continue to strive to make my dreams come true. I hope to make an impact in the modeling world and break barriers in high end runway fashion as a 5’2.5 model. I am fearless and I believe that anything is possible even if it seems impossible at times.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

Being your own kind of beautiful is about self-love, self-acceptance, and being comfortable in your own uniqueness. Beauty can be seen as subjective and vary person to person. It starts by defining beauty on your own terms and being authentic to yourself. True beauty comes from within and is a reflection of a person's character, values, and how they treat others.

How would you describe your fashion style?

My fashion style is chic and classy, delivering a sophisticated and timeless aesthetic that exudes confidence and elegance. I believe that my style not only enhances my physical appearance, but also showcases my professionalism and attention to detail.

Who or what inspires you?

I am my own inspiration. The little girl who put together all her “Picture day” pictures in one folder ready to start her modeling career did not think she would be where she is today in her journey. I am very proud of the woman I am today.

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?

Do not give up. If you have received more no’s, continue for that yes. Finding the motivation to continue your journey can be difficult, but if it’s your dream? Why did you start  in the first place? Because you believed you could. I live by a quote that goes like, “Be fearless in the pursuit of what sets your soul on fire”. Once you find your fire, you will become eager for your dream.

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how has that changed or shaped you?

An obstacle of mine was overcoming my eating disorder and learning how to manage it. It was a difficult journey being in denial, but once I found my people and the help I needed, I am thankful to be where I am today. It taught me that it’s okay to ask for help and a better relationship with myself. I recognized my own beauty and love being able to share my journey with others.

What makes you beautiful?

It starts by embracing and celebrating my unique qualities, quirks, and individuality. It involves accepting myself for who I am, recognizing my worth, and being confident in my own skin.

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?

Confidence comes from within and is a journey that takes time. You are capable of growth and change, and with perseverance and self-compassion, you can build the confidence you deserve. No one else’s opinion matters because it’s a reflection of who they are and how they see themselves. You are your own kind of beautiful.
