Tell us about yourself

  • I am 20 years old and a full time college student studying Health Science. I am from a small town in Michigan called Middleville which is 30 minutes south of Grand Rapids. I have two Australian Shepherds and spend a lot of my time taking them for walks or playing fetch. I love  weightlifting and running and being overall  healthy. I am always finding ways to spend time with the people I love and always trying to experience new things.

Tell us about your modeling experience.

  • I have been on a model team before through a local Grand Rapids photographer, Bree Bonnema. On this team we would be sent out photoshoot dates with their location and themes and we would come with outfits and take photos accordingly. I have also done many personal photo shoots through this photographer. I have always enjoyed getting photos done and documenting life's special moments.

What is your biggest dream?

  • My biggest dream would be to live a happy life. I am someone who loves to try and do everything, and I want to be able to say that in everything that I did I chose to be happy during all of it.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

  •  To me, being your own kind of beautiful means embracing yourself. Being happy in knowing that there is only one of you, and you were made so beautifully. I think everyone is special and beautiful for a multitude of reasons. I myself try to embrace all the things about me and avoid comparing myself to the girl next to me. Being your own kind of beautiful to me means cheering  on the girls next to me and knowing that each other's beauty doesn't lessen our own.

How would you describe your fashion style?

  • My fashion style is something that I would describe as simple, cozy, and classy. I love the neutral colors that go with everything, and often find myself leaning towards a sense of comfort. I am always down for a cozy day in sweatpants and big shirts; However, I am always fond of the classy and timeless styles. I love black and white and love accessorizing with gold and pearls.

Who or what inspires you?

My parents both inspire me. I admire how they manage to complete everything that is asked of them and more, all while maintaining a positive attitude and making time for those they love. Time is something we can get any more of and I am so inspired by my parents ability to manage it in the midst of it all. They inspire me to pursue all that I love and want to while also setting my priorities.

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?

  • My advice to someone who is jut getting started modeling would be to take the leap. Every one has so much to offer, take the leap of faith because you can never accomplish or achieve anything if you don't at least try.

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.

  • A big obstacle that I have overcome in my life would be bullying throughout high school. this changed my life and how I viewed everything after it. It has shaped me into a more compassionate, open, and purposeful person. I have always tried to view those around me with a lens of love and empathy. I truly don't know what everyone has endured in their life, instead of judging I try to love and embrace who they are. This event has really showed me the importance of treating people with kindness despite how they may treat you. Life is hard enough, it is better to have people who are rooting for you and supporting you.

What makes you beautiful/handsome?

  • I think what makes me beautiful is my heart. I have always thought that the was people treat, respect, and love you shows their true beauty. I have always tried to embody having a good heart and loving people first.

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?

  • I would tell another girl/guy my age who is struggling with their confidence to take a deep breathe and tell them that they can do it. Growing up a cheerleader, I have truly learned the effects and the confidence boost when people cheer you on and support you. Individuals need people in their corner, so I would tell those struggling all the great things that they are and make sure they know that I am in their corner.
