My name is Thesuri Akarsha Palayangoda.
I was born in Sri Lanka.
Im will be 17 this April.
I moved to America about 2 years ago.
Tell us about your modeling experience.
This will be my first time modeling for an agency and I'm really excited about my modeling journey moving forward.
What is your biggest dream?
My biggest dream is to be successful in the future and treat my mom like a queen as she deserves for all the things she did and provided for me growing up. To be able to travel all around the world has also been one of my biggest dreams.
What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?
Being your own kind of beautiful, to me it means how you treat others or your qualities and what brings out from it. That's true beauty.
How would you describe your fashion style?
I would describe my style as modern, trendy or a street style. Jewelry is a must for me. I wear jewelry most of the time with my outfits.
Who or what inspires you?
The person who inspires me the most is my mother. She has gone through uncountable challenges in her life taking care of three children all by herself not giving up on us. Especially in Sri Lanka it was really tough for her to raise us but she overcame all of it and brought us to the young adults we are today and that is why I want her to live her best life ahead because I will work towards my success to make her proud.
What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?
Be confident. Don't be afraid to embrace your beauty. Get comfortable and have fun with your journey.
Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.
One of the challenging obstacles I have faced is having to live my life with just one parent but till today it only made me a stronger and independent young woman. One more thing I struggled with as a kid was the lack of confidence I had. Over time the older I got the more comfortable and confident I got with my body and I accepted myself for who I am and what my body looks like.
What makes you beautiful/handsome?
What makes me beautiful is my personality or the way I treat others. When I'm with my family and friends I make sure to keep a happy vibe around us and be kind as much as I can. Even when I look at my friends I see the beauty in them just from their positive attitude and their love for people.
What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?
Give them compliments such as “you're beautiful”, “i love your style” or compliment about who they are from the inside like “ you're such a nice person”. “I think you're an amazing person”. The true beauty of you is a reflection of who you are to other people.
