Tell us about yourself (where are you from, age, whatever you want to add)

My name is Ashley but I also go by Slimm. I am 20 years old from Newark, Delaware. I am Cameroonian and a first generational child. I love to read, paint, do yoga, and meditate in my free time. I am a scorpio baby.

Tell us about your modeling experience.

I always have been studying how to pose and walk for some years but I began self modeling summer of 2021 by booking my own shoots to build my personal portfolio. I have taken professional pictures with a couple photographers in New York City and Los Angeles and they were great.

What is your biggest dream?

My biggest dream is to create my own fashion brand empire and to be in a campaign for Christian Dior Femme.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

To be my own kind of beautiful it means to be confident and inspiring to others. I feel like the beauty standard should be set to who someone is on the inside and not on the outside.

Who or what inspires you?

I inspire myself through my inner source energy. Knowing that I can do anything I put my mind too is the most inspiring thing to me in my eyes.

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?

Advice I would give to someone who is just starting modeling is to be patient. Divine timing is everything. Just to trust yourself, trust the process, and everything will fall into place.

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.

Some obstacles I have overcame in my life is my self confidence. Environmental factors took a huge toll on my self confidence but I overcame them through the support of my friends and close family.

What makes you beautiful/ handsome?

What makes me beautiful is my energy that people feel when they are around me. Beauty is from within.

What would you say to another guy/ girl your age who is struggling with their confidence?

I would say to a guy or girl my age who is struggling with their confidence is to show gratitude of where they are in their life and start verbally affirming positive things into their life because there is power in the words you speak and the thoughts you think. I would also advise journaling, that helped a lot when I was in the process of gaining my self confidence.
