My name is Britney Ruiz,I’m 18 years old I live in Midland Texas. I was a cheerleader for 10 years.I’ll be attending college in the fall to further my education in physical therapy.
Tell us about your modeling experience.
I have walked in local fashion shows in my hometown. I’ll be doing a fashion show in September and a photo shoot as well.
What is your biggest dream
My dream is to one day become a Physical Therapist.
What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?
Being your own kind of of beautiful would have to be to not let society decide on what you should look like. Instead love yourself for who you are and what you look like because we were all created differently in our own unique way.
How would you describe your fashion style?
I would say my fashion style would have to be casual with trendy and glam !!
Who or what inspires you?
My grandma for how strong she is with fighting with cancer she never gives up she though me to be fearless and never give up on any of my goals
What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?
My advice would be to go for it and strive for every goal you have and never quit. Don’t let society tell you that you have to look a certain way. Go out and do any type of modeling you want !!
Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.
When I was a sophomore in high school I fractured my elbow tearing 2 tendons and 1 ligament. I was close to having emergency surgery. I was just starting out my first cheer season on varsity. With competition just around the corner when the thought of missing all these opportunities and letting my team down came to mind it hurt me tremendously. I could see the look on my teams faces when they knew at competition they were gonna have a rough time. I told my self I wouldn’t let them down. I didn’t give up and pushed myself with physical therapy to get stronger to be able to make it for competition. I ended making it just in time for me to help my team out. This thought me to be strong, determined and to never give up.
What makes you beautiful/handsome?
What makes me beautiful would have to be my big heart and the amount of love I have for everyone and everything. I’ve learned life is too short to be angry and mad instead live life with love and happiness.
What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?
You’re beautiful or handsome in your own way in any body shape or form. Don’t let society change your mind and don’t let those hateful words get the best of you. keep your chin high and love yourself and work it!
