Tell us about yourself (where are you from, age, whatever you want to add)

Hi, my name is Aeryne (pronounced as Erin), I'm 19 years old, and I'm currently based in Johnson City, TN. I'm full Filipino, but I was born in Arizona. I'm also a full-time college student in hopes to earn a degree in Health Sciences.

Tell us about your modeling experience

I don't have much experience in modeling. I have done 2 photoshoots and a charity fashion show modeling local boutiques. I also take my own modelesque pictures on my other Instagram account @livingwaeryne.

What is your biggest dream?

My biggest dream is to be financially stable and happy with the life I created. Although I don't tend to make all of my decisions based on how much money I have, it does still play a factor in daily life. If I can make a living for myself by being stable and happy, I think I'm winning.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

I believe being your own kind of beautiful comes from within. It doesn't matter much about what's on the outside, but what's on the inside. I believe someone who has a good heart with good intentions makes someone beautiful. They're willing to care for others the same way they care for themselves.

How would you describe your fashion style?

I would describe my style as comfortable and chic. I do love some comfy sweats, but make it look put together. I always try to be sure I'm comfortable with what I'm wearing, but still make it look fashionable.

Who or what inspires you?

My mom and my grandma inspire me the most. My mom has been there for me since day 1 and has always been by my side through everything I've done. Whether it be my volleyball games, band concerts, photoshoots, and much more, my mom has been there every step of the way. My grandma was there for me as well. For as long as I've known her, she never failed to express how much she loves me. Although she has gone recently, I still feel her with me. Without these lovely people in my life, I wouldn't be the person I am today.

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?

The main advice I would give is to be genuine. The camera can tell if someone isn't being themselves, so it's better to be yourself rather than someone else. Being yourself and being comfortable in your own skin is so important to taking great pictures and in being an awesome model.

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.

A major obstacle I have overcome in my life is how I viewed my body. In the modeling industry, the way your body looks is a major factor. I used to hate the way my body looked and was even embarrassed to wear bathing suits. I decided to do something about it by working out. Working out has made me more confident and comfortable in my own skin. I also learned to love my body for its uniqueness and not care about what anyone else has to say about it. This obstacle has shaped me to be more confident in myself and in the way I look.

What makes you beautiful/handsome?

I believe what makes me beautiful is my personality and smile. My personality is shy at first, but once I get comfortable with those around me, I'm pretty bubbly. I enjoy having conversations with people and getting to know others in my circle. I also make sure nobody feels left out because I believe inclusivity is important in social settings. With my smile, I'm very particular about how my teeth look. I try my best to take good care of my teeth and think it's the best physical feature about me.

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?

I would say to not care about what others have to say about you. They only know you based on what you look like from the outside, not from the inside. Don't let what people who don't know you get to your head because at the end of the day, you know who you are and they don't. Being confident in who you are as a person is more important than what people think about you based on your physical features.
