Tell us about yourself.
I'm 25 and I'm from a small town in central Indiana but I have been living in Chicago for a couple of years. I love the big city! Travelling is my passion--I've been to 12 countries, most of them I saw while backpacking alone. I have a terribly long list of destinations that I have to visit and it is my goal in life to see them all. I love animals and have been a vegetarian for 12.5 years. I like to try and discover new things all the time and will never say no to an adventure.
Tell us about your modeling experience.
I don't have a lot of modeling experience even though I've been trying to get into modeling since I was 15. But I have recently been working with my photographer to practice "face poses" and posing in general.
What is your biggest dream?
My biggest dream, aside from visiting all the destinations on my list, is to start a doggy daycare!
What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?
Being your own kind of beautiful means knowing and discovering all aspects of yourself and appreciating them all.
How would you describe your fashion style?
Well I adore basically every single Dior item, so anything you see on that site, I would wear. But on a normal basis, my favorite things to wear are velvet, pink, and sparkles.
Who or what inspires you?
My inspiration actually comes from within myself. I have so many ideas of projects I want to try, careers I want to have, places I want to live, etc. I never get bored and am amazed at how I could have so many aspirations and I'm inspired by the idea that anything is possible.
What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?
Modeling is more than just having a pretty face, it takes a lot of work. It's an art. And you have to put in the effort to learn about it and succeed.
Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.
My main obstacle was trying to get through college without knowing exactly what I wanted to study. The problem was that I had so many interests that it was hard for me to choose just one thing that I thought would be best for me. I started in astronomy because I loved space, but then changed to architecture because I loved architecture. Even though I finished with my degree in that, I have not pursued architecture because I liked it more of a hobby than for a career, same with astronomy. I had so many mental breakdowns in college because I felt that I HAD to choose something, and quickly, and I couldn't figure out what was right for me. It was frustrating; but since graduating, I've learned to love the fact that I have so many interests and can't settle on one thing--it keeps life interesting for me.
What makes you beautiful/handsome?
I like to think that what makes me beautiful is the fact that I have so many emotions. I am very grateful for any little thing that someone does for me and even if others don't appreciate my gratitude, it's nice to know I have these feelings. I feel all my emotions to the extremes, and while this might be considered unhealthy--I think this makes me human and shows me that I truly have a heart.
What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?
It might take a little bit of time to really get to know and appreciate yourself, but it will happen, you just have to be patient. Sometimes you have to learn from bad experiences, but they make you stronger and truly teach yourself about who you are on the inside--and that's where confidence stems from.
