Tell us about yourself (where are you from, age, whatever you want to add)

I am 30 years old and was born and raised in northern Virginia. I currently reside in Arlington, VA right outside DC.I lost 100 pounds through weight loss surgery 7.5 years ago and kept it off. I also discuss overcoming my disabilities and how I am now a graduate student earning my MPA degree from VT . I have had two internships on capitol hill.  I do modeling on the side my goal to hopefully be one of the first high fashion model who has had weight loss surgery or has lost half their body weight. I want to be a role model to help inspire other to live a more healthy life. I am also a big advocate for the disability community.I have several learning disabilities so helping the disability community is a passion of mine.  My career aspiration is to lobby, do research and eventually earn my law degree to help the disability community thrive.   My personal weight loss success story has recently been published by Fox News, the DailyMail, and several international news website such as a Vietnamese, Polish, UK and Nigerian news outlet.

Tell us about your modeling experience.

I have been doing freelance modeling for about two years. I have worked as a promotional model for Push Agency for about a year and have been a brand ambassador for several companies.

What is your biggest dream?

To be one of the first high fashion models to have had weight loss surgery or become an influencer on instagram. I eventually want to go back to school to earn my law degree and to one day run for congress.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

I think it means everyone is unique and different which is beauty in itself we should embrace it.

How would you describe your fashion style?

I would say I am glamorous and chic. I love dressing up and wearing animal print and wearing black and red.

Who or what inspires you?

My mom inspires me she was a successful business woman and working mom she has taught me everything I know today I wouldn't be who I am now without her. She also became legally blind in her mid forties but her disability doesnt stop her she is vice president of her homeowner association and not once do I ever hear her complain or feel sorry for herself she doesnt let her disability define her.

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?

Join model/photographer  facebook groups in your area Reach out to photographers looking to do TFP photoshoots so you do not have to pay or pay a photographer who is very experienced. Once you have some professional photo taken join modelmayhem.com and create a profile and create an instagram dedicated to your modeling photos. Take natural no make up photos to use when applying to agencies and apply to multiple agencies. Do not get discouraged if you get rejected.

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.

Losing 100 pounds gave me the motivation to start taking school more seriously and do well. I began making short and long term goals and completed them which just boost my confidence. I learned I can do anything I want if I work hard for it. Also I was in special education my whole life. I never took an AP or gifted course. I almost dropped out of high school my senior year. School was very challenging for me and I had trouble fitting in. When I began taking school more seriously I developed amazing study habits I study about 40 hours a week. Those long study hours paid off I made deans list my senior year and now in grad school I mostly earn A's and have a 3.75 GPA

What makes you beautiful/handsome?

I think my heart and soul make me beautiful. I am a genuine good and kind person and I think that is what makes me beautiful deep down. People say my best features are my smile and eyes.

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?

You can do anything you want if you put your mind to it. Believe in yourself cause when you do the sky's the limit. Set goals and accomplish them keep doing that I assure you will start gaining more confidence in yourself.
