Tell us about yourself (where are you from, age, whatever you want to add)
I am originally from Bradenton, Florida, but moved to Chicago for university once I turned 18. I am currently 20 years old, and I love all things theatre, Chicago and Heathers are my top favorite musicals.
Tell us about your modeling experience.
I am a petite model, and I just really started pursuing modeling as of June of 2020. Obviously it is a big and diverse field, so my main goal was to work on building my portfolio and hopefully get signed to an amazing agency. Hannah Noelle Models happened to become my first representation! I am still fairly new to the field, so right now I am focused on pursuing it with my full efforts and growing my skills and experience further.
What is your biggest dream?
My biggest dream would be to get to travel outside the United States. I grew up in a family of 5, and we never had money to go on vacations or travel much. I have my passport and I would love to start seeing the world.
What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?
Being your own kind of beautiful means embracing your uniqueness, and making it your strength. Even if someone has similar features as you, you as a whole are unique and amazing. Understand that you are beautiful, and can use your influence to better someone's day, or pursue a lifelong passion. It is also very important that you know that you should not be afraid to be the first of your kind to pursue something. Be the first and inspire others!
How would you describe your fashion style?
I would say my fashion style is very streetwear-based, with a touch of office chic. I usually go for dark colors and a black boot to match, but I am also a huge fan of dressing in a sleek business/formal look that screams "woman at work."
Who or what inspires you?
I am most inspired by my upbringing. My mom was a single mother of 5, and we did not have much money growing up. I would get new clothes from Goodwill, and one pair of shoes a year from Payless. Seeing my mom work so hard for us, made me realize that I also wanted to make something of myself. I worked extremely hard in school to be able to move to Chicago at 18, and although it hasn't been the easiest, it has always been worth it. My inspiration comes from constantly appreciating my beginnings, and using it to fuel my ambitions and work 10x harder to reach my goals.
What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?
My advice would be to not get discouraged when you face adversity, and to practice your posing and facial expressions at home. I have used Pinterest to draw inspiration for posing and photoshoot looks. I would also follow models that may have a similar look to you, and possibly reach out with questions. Overall, when you are starting, the most important thing is to approach modeling head on, do your best to not go into your shell and overthink everything. Embrace your confidence and beauty and it will show on camera!
Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.
The biggest obstacle that I faced most recently was making the change to living in Chicago. I had some savings from working two jobs in Florida the summer before, but I was also paying for college by myself. I felt like I had to work three times harder than most of the other students whose parents were paying with ease. I spent a lot of time studying when others would party. I also had to leave behind the only friends I had known for the past 10 years. The whole experience made me much more goal-oriented, appreciative of everything that I have, matured my mindset, and pushed me to not give up. Through my hard work I was able to get an amazing job, I made new friends that are super supportive, and I am still very close to my hometown friends. It pushed me, and made me much stronger.
What makes you beautiful/handsome?
I think my warmth makes me beautiful. I love making people smile, and I think there is beauty in that. It did take me a while to also appreciate my red hair, but over the years, I have grown more fond of its rarity.
What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?
I used to be really insecure about my looks, but I became more confident when I realized that my body is a temple, and there is only one person like me in the world. The other thing that is very important is to surround yourself with friends that support you and see your worth. Having a supportive group makes you feel more free to be yourself, and they help you appreciate the things that you didn't notice in yourself before because you were anxious.
