Tell us about yourself (where are you from, age, whatever you want to add)
My name is Uwimana Grace, but everyone calls me grace. I am 19 years old, I am from Congo which is in Africa. I like to sing and modelling is one of the things I like to do. It would mean a lot if I succeed in it. Been living in the US for 6 years. I am a freshman in college.
Tell us about your modeling experience.
I have done photoshoots but nothing serious like that. Never been to fashion weeks, or worked with any other models, but I am excited to work with you guys.
What is your biggest dream?
My biggest dream is to be successful in life with whatever I decide to do. I want modelling to work out for me so I can continue with it in my life, maybe acting too.
What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?
What it means to be your own kind of beautiful is to love the body you are in. It doesn’t matter whether you have scars, stretch marks etc. God created us in his image and therefore we are all beautiful. Don’t let anyone tell you different sis, cause you’re beautiful just the way you are.
How would you describe your fashion style?
I would describe it as interesting because I don’t have a specific way that I dress, I am interested in wearing any clothes that I feel comfortable in, I feel like it could be better but somehow it works.
Who or what inspires you?
My family and being a Christian inspire me. My faith is important and I live with that, my family wants what’s best fo me and I want to succeed and make them happy and not waste my time doing unnecessary stuff.
What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modelling?
My advice is to put your all into it, it’s okay to feel nervous because we aren’t all used to what the modelling brings. Also don’t forget to HAVE FUN, enjoy yourself and be happy.
Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.
I don’t really have that big of an obstacle.
What makes you beautiful/ handsome?
Being Congolese/African really makes me feel beautiful, what can I say? It’s a blessing from God that I am who I am and where I am from is a big part of my life.
What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?
Try different activities, your confidence will grow. Surround yourself with people who have confident in you and what you are doing, also be out there and see how you can contribute to situations.
