Hi, my name is Emily! I’m 20 years old and I’m originally from Charlotte, North Carolina. I moved to Tampa, Florida for college and I'm currently a student. I decided to pursue modeling and I’m so blessed to have the opportunity to work with such an amazing agency.
Tell us about your modeling experience.
I’ve always loved being in front of the camera and taking pictures for fun. I didn’t decide to pursue modeling as a career until recently, and I’m so grateful I did. I look forward to all of the future opportunities and experiences the industry has to offer.
What is your biggest dream?
I would say my biggest dream in life is to leave a legacy in whatever I do. Whether that’s through modeling or other endeavors, I believe my purpose in life is to spread love and light to others. I would love to be a successful businesswoman, traveling the world, empowering others in some way. It genuinely inspires me when I inspire others, even if it’s just by words of encouragement. The sky is the limit and I know God will use me to make a positive impact on the world.
What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?
Being different from one another and loving our differences is what makes us beautiful. Having different backgrounds, cultures, characteristics, etc. are all beautiful ways to express your individuality. Nobody is you, and that’s something to take pride in. Embracing what you were born with and owning it, that's true beauty.
How would you describe your fashion style?
I take a lot of inspiration from different eras and I love to see how fashion has evolved. I don't define my style to one specific look because it changes all of the time. Overall, if I had to pick I'd say my favorite fashion is from the ’90s. I admire the culture, the music, and especially fashion, the ’90s is just a vibe.
Who or what inspires you?
The most prominent thing that inspires me to go after what I want in life is my family. As a little girl, I was instilled with important values to uphold myself to high standards and never settle for anything or anyone. Living by these values and having a good support system has made me into the woman I am today. My family is such a blessing that I am grateful for every day and they inspire me to make them proud.
What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?
Just like anything in life - if you want it, go for it. Life is too short not to chase your dreams. It’s better to try something and not succeed than to not even try at all. Have faith in yourself and know you are beautiful, no matter what anybody says.
Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.
Growing up, I’ve always struggled with anxiety. I still deal with it but I’ve been blessed to find ways with how to cope which is why I’m so passionate about helping others, especially with mental health. It's taught me the importance of having a positive outlook on life and just trusting in God’s plan.
What makes you beautiful?
To me, being beautiful is internal. Having a beautiful soul radiates externally to others. I’m a very spiritual person so having good intentions, being kind, and spreading love are all values that I hold close to my heart. One of my favorite quotes I live by was beautifully said by Maya Angelou, “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?
Confidence comes from within so when you feel good, you look good. Take good care of your physical, emotional, and spiritual health every day. Pray, meditate, workout, read, eat healthy, and find ways to grow and better yourself. Tell yourself positive words of affirmation like, “I am beautiful, I am kind, I am confident, I am blessed,” and you will believe it. Always remind yourself that you are perfect just the way God made you.
