Hi, I'm Cindy! I'm 23 years old living in the state of Maryland going to college but also pursuing a modeling career! I have a huge love for modeling. Im bilingual so I can speak English and Spanish fluently. I love to travel and discover new things and hobbies. I'm a very artistic person so I have always been so interested in painting, drawing, and music.
Tell us about your modeling experience.
So ever since I was little my mom would notice that I loved taking pictures. I always loved being in front of the camera smiling and all. Then as I got older people/ friends would tell me have you ever thought of modeling? So after high school is when I started to take it more seriously. I moved to California for a couple of months to pursue it at the age of 19, I booked my very first photoshoot ever! And after that I fell completely in love with it! I came back to Maryland and ever since I have been doing freelance modeling with many photographers in my area. I have gotten accepted into two agencies in the past.
What is your biggest dream?
My biggest dream is to become successful in anything that I chose to do. To make my family proud and to achieve everything that I have ever wanted in life. Like perhaps getting well known in the modeling industry!
What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?
To me being yourself automatically makes you beautiful. Everyone is so unique in their own way. There is only one of you! So you need to love yourself! Love all your imperfections. Sometimes I feel like we get so caught up in today's beauty standards that we start to compare ourselves to other people, but we gotta remind ourselves that we don't have to look a certain way to be beautiful! You gotta embrace what you got! Be you and own it!
How would you describe your fashion Style?
My fashion style is definitely cottage-core, elegant, pastel colors and really girly/ feminine. My favorite era of fashion is the 1950s and the 90s so I like to dress like to incorporate pieces of those eras into my style. I love dressing up in whites, pinks and lavender shades. Dresses are my absolute favorite thing to wear and I love to wear pearls. I look up to Audrey Hepburn's style a lot but I also love to dress edgy when i'm in the mood haha, you can never go wrong with the color black!
Who or what inspires you?
The person who inspires me is my mom. She has taught me to never give up on anything in life no matter how hard it may get. My family is so important to me and they make me want to try even harder in succeeding to reward them one day for taking such good care of me and my little brother. II want to make them so proud of me.
What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?
My advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling is to just go for it! Go book those shoots, start building up your portfolio, practice your posing in the mirror, it helps! Also a tip I have is that if the pose feels uncomfortable it usually means its going to turn out good. Also making shapes with your body is always a good idea! Being confident in front of the camera is good too so if you’re not there yet practice shooting with friends!
Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.
Probably my senior year of high school was really rough on me I was getting bullied by my own so called “friends'' so I remember feeling alone at that time and so hurt, Also my move to California really opened up my eyes a lot that not everyone is going to be happy for you when they see you following your dreams. Heartbreaks have also changed my mind throughout the years as well but for the better. All of these examples are different but they all have taught me that at the end of the day all you got is yourself sometimes and you gotta love yourself and know that you’re going to be okay no matter what ,its going to be alright and now I have a good support system , friends who value me and care for me as much as I care for them.
What makes you beautiful?
What makes me beautiful is my personality, my genuine love for others and how kind to everyone. I feel like I care so much about people and It's hard for me not to. I treat everyone the way I want to be treated and show so much love to everyone around me. I'm a very caring person. I think that's one of my favorite things about myself and that truly makes me beautiful.
What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?
For others around my age that are struggling with their confidence I want to say that, if you feel good you feel confident. Just do it! Don't overthink too much, Be you and never change for anyone else! Surround yourself with people who bring you up and support you! Look at yourself in the mirror and say “I can do this!”. Be proud of who you are and know that you can do anything. Don't be afraid to take risks , You never know if you don't try! We’re all so beautiful in our own way and capable of anything our hearts desire.
