Tell us about yourself (where are you from, age, whatever you want to add)

I am 40 years old but do not feel like it, I live on beautiful Vancouver Island and enjoy being outdoors with my 3 teen daughters and two dogs. Traveling is a huge passion of mine and my husbands, my favorite places so far have been Panama and Hong Kong.

Tell us about your modeling experience.

I started in the industry at 16 and have been lucky enough to be able to continue to today. I have always loved fashion and becoming different characters in front of the camera. I enjoy both runway and print and look forward to many more years modelling.

What is your biggest dream?

My biggest dream for my modelling career was to wear a pair of wings and walk for Victoria Secret or in NYFW (I can still achieve this). My biggest dream personally is to raise my three daughters to be the best person they can, and watch them all be successful and happy in their own shoes.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

To feel comfortable in your own skin, I know it's easier said then done and I have had to learn myself. We are not all alike and we are not supposed to be, embrace your uniqueness and let it shine through.

How would you describe your fashion style?

I would say that I am fashion forward and would rather dress up then down. I only bought my first pair of sweatpants and t-shirts this year due to staying home so much.

Who or what inspires you?

I have been looking up to Mariah Carey and Celine Dion since I was probably 12 years old. Their music got me through many hard times and when I sang along to them everything seemed to be ok. They are who I strive to be while growing up and I still have time to achieve this.

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?

I would say to not forget who you are, it's so easy to want to look like the girls around you but DON'T. Be yourself, surround yourself with a very supportive group of friends and family as this industry can be tough and be patient. Embrace your curly hair, your freckles and the dimple on your chin you inherited from Grandma because it's who you are and show it off. Nobody wants normal!!!

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.

I was anorexic from the age of 17 until 23 when I became pregnant. It was a challenging time for myself and my family until I admitted it to myself first, there was no getting help. Getting pregnant put my health first and I learned to eat and make healthy choices for two of us. That "baby" is now 16 and has grown into an amazing young women. Now I am raising three teen daughters, the last thing I want any of them to deal with is body confidence. I have been open with them about my experience and instead show them how to eat well and include exercise in your life. I can say with all honesty that at forty I am the healthiest and strongest I have been and I feel amazing. I love being a positive role model to my daughters and to every young girl out there who needs one, I'm here for you too.

What makes you beautiful/handsome?

I would say my passion, motivation and zest for life every day, I rarely let a rainy day hold me back. I have always been told how positive I am and that my smile is catching. My personal theme this year is to be Forty, Fit & Fabulous!!

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?

This is real for so many including myself and really this came with age and acceptance. Wake up every day and write 1-3 positive things about yourself or about what day you want to have and stick it on your fridge or bathroom mirror. Read that note every time you pass it to remind yourself that you are amazing and the only one like you, nobody should be cookie-cutter.
