My name is Janice I am 18 years old and I came from a really small town in Pennsylvania. I moved to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho for college and am really just trying to live my best life with my best people.
Tell us about your modeling experience.
My modeling experience has helped me gain so much confidence. For me, modeling isn’t about being on the cover of a magazine or showing off how beautiful you are. It’s about being confident in yourself and how you hold yourself.
What is your biggest dream?
My biggest dream is to be an influential part of society. I want to make a difference whether it is helping people, being an influence for good, or being someone to look up to.
What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?
Being your own kind of beautiful means that you are what YOU want to be. It’s not worrying about other people thinking you’re beautiful because you know that you’re beautiful. It’s about wearing what you want to wear and what you think is cute. Not everyone has to like your look, just you.
How would you describe your fashion style?
My fashion style is really simple and girly. I love pastels and pinks but I wear black a lot as well because I think its classy and chic. I always have my nails painted because I think that creates an elegant look as well.
Who or what inspires you?
I’m inspired by my momma. She is the chief of police in the town that I grew up in and I think that she is so strong and beautiful. She worked really hard to be in the position that she’s in and that’s the kind of hardworking woman I strive to be.
What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?
Just be yourself. Don’t try to be anyone else to impress a photographer or an agency because in the long run you want to live freely with your own expressions.
Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.
Some obstacles that I’ve overcome are moving around a lot. My dad lives in Idaho and my mom lives in Pennsylvania so flying on a place across the country all the time was a struggle. I overcame that by seeing all the things that I did have with the travel. The new experiences that I gained and the amazing people I met.
What makes you beautiful/handsome?
I am beautiful not because of my looks but because of the way I carry myself.
What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?
I completely understand struggling with confidence because confidence was a huge struggle within myself. My biggest piece of advice would be to be whoever you want to be without worrying about what other people think.
