Tell us about yourself

My name is Ruth and I'm a 23 year old from Miami. I have many titles under my belt; Wife, mother (of 1 but soon to be 2), singer, dancer, author, model, fashion designer, entrepreneur...but my identifier is Child of God. I've been in a lot of dark places in my life for a very long time, but I'm grateful to say that through His grace, mercy and loving kindness, I'm finally coming out.

Tell us about your modeling experience.

My modeling experience is quite vague and it really just boils down to one modeling competition I did when I was 21 in my town's local mall. Though, ever since then, it's giving me the push I've needed to pursue my dreams in this industry.

What is your biggest dream?

My BIGGEST dream is meeting the man that died for my sins and The Father, but I guess that's more of a reality than a dream for me when I live the lifestyle I'm called to live! So when it comes down to it, I desire a life of wealth and pure blissful joy. Owning an empire, publishing several best sellers and being a known face throughout the world.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

For me, I equate it to my one of my favorite scriptures in Psalms 139. "I am fearfully and wonderfully made, marvelous are Your works and that my soul knows well." To be your own kind of beautiful is to know WHO you are and WHO'S you are. I have never felt more beautiful than when I realized I was created to be exactly who I am today and I'll always be grateful for that freeing revelation.

How would you describe your fashion style?

I just like to be different and stand out. I have a very classy background, and I usually go for more of a high fashion look whether I'm dressing up or down. I love walking into the room and being dressed as a sight you've never experienced.

Who or what inspires you?

I get my inspirations mostly from the Holy Spirit, whether it's designs or even witty writing quotes. My favorite designer is definitely Coco Chanel. She dared to be different in an era where everyone told her not to be and that's the very definition of fearless.

What have been your greatest accomplishments?

Becoming a wife to my amazing husband and becoming a mom to my adorable son are definitely my greatest accomplishments. Also, my first novel has been written and will soon to be published in the Spring/Summer of 2020, Hair Wins.

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.

If there's one thing I was called to be, it's an overcomer. I've overcome molestation, domestic abuse, a broken family, drug and alcohol addiction, severe mental battles that have had me end up in crisis units...but I thank God for His hand outstretched towards me because that's the only reason I ever made it through any of it.

What makes you beautiful/handsome?

Well, definitely my looks! Lol, in all seriousness, I've grown to love the reflection in the mirror simply because it's how I was designed to be. I believe beauty also comes from the ashes you've been buried in and how you decide to come out. I choose to blossom in grace and poise.

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?

I would definitely ask them who or what made them feel that way in the first place. We tend to, out of our own personal insecurities, let the world around us shape our personal view of ourselves. I've been a victim of it too! The best thing to do is to spend some time every day to kill this mindset and to walk in assurance that your purpose is great! So be confident in it and in you.
