What is your biggest dream?
My biggest dream is to travel across Europe every year to participate in Paris, London and Italian fashion week and to walk for my favorite brands: Chanel, Versace and Louis Vuitton.
What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?
Being my own kind of beautiful means embracing all my flaws and loving every inch of my body and self and always knowing that everyone is their own kind of beautiful, so the only person to be in competition with is myself.
How would you describe your fashion style?
My fashion style is a mixture of my moods and feelings, so it could change at any moment or time really. Sometimes I like to feel bold and use my clothes to express that sense of boldness I'm feeling that day. Sometimes I like to be artistic and use my clothes as a creative medium. Other days, I feel girly and want to feel that way through light colors and sometimes I want to rock street wear or dress in fitness clothes because I want to feel comfortable and relaxed. I don't like to put myself or my style in a box; so it's always changing and I'm always wearing something new or different from everyone else.
Who or what inspires you?
My icon and inspiration is Rihanna. I am in love and obsessed with her and have always been. I've always looked up to her since I can remember. As we are both black and Caribbean woman, I feel like I can live and dream vicariously through her because she does everything that I love and crave in life. She's an artists, business women, creator, singer/song writer, fashion icon and in my eyes a legend. She is everything I'd hope to become in the future and more. She inspires me to live out my biggest dreams and fears and to pursue everything that interests me in life. She is a true icon and she inspires me daily and anyone who really knows me would know that.
What have been your greatest accomplishments?
My greatest accomplishment thus far would have to have be how persistent I am in my goals and pursuits. If I make a goal, I make sure I achieve it and will stop at nothing until I do. I've always wanted to travel across Europe and study at Oxford University and got the opportunity to travel to over 8 countries in one semester in my second year in college while studying at one of the top universities in England and in the world. I used to always want to sing and become a singer, so I tried out for the Voice and was the lead singer at my high school graduation which was a huge step and accomplishment for me. I am also in the process of starting nursing school and my own business, so I am proud of myself for not only dreaming things, but making all my dreams come to life one day at a time. I feel as though, every moment I accomplish a new goal that I set out for myself I am a step closer to where I see myself being successful, secure and comfortable in life. I also have yet to accomplish my greatest goal, but as I am on the path to accomplishing everything I've ever wanted and dreamed of for myself, that will soon be my greatest accomplishment in life.
Do you have any special talents?
Yes, I am a seamstress, designer, artist and I'm also very flexible in the weirdest ways which I owe thanks to yoga, cheer and gymnastics. I can also sing and talk without moving my mouth at all.
Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.
My biological father passed away when I was in high school and that experience taught me a lot about life and appreciating the little things and moments in life that are so overlooked and undervalued. After that happened, I've always been so eager to pursue and go after everything I ever wanted to do in life fearlessly. I've always been a risk taker but, now I more of a risk taker on steroids; because when I'm on my death bed one day, the only way I will accept death is when I can look back and say a lived a dang good life without any fears, regrets or hesitations. I want to know that I always went after everything I've ever wanted and go it one way or another without stopping at the word no or taking it as the first and final answer to anything.
What makes you beautiful/handsome?
I am beautiful because I declare my beauty and confidence whenever I walk in a room, just how a model would walk across a runway; with grace, confidence, class and sophistication. My face and exterior beauty doesn't make me beautiful; it's my heart, my openness, my values, my strength, my daringness and my drive. My beauty comes from within.
What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?
You can't expect others to love you, if you can't even begin to love yourself. You attract what you are. So, if you want to attract love, good energy, good people and abundance in life and health, you must first channel that through yourself before you expect it from others.
