Tell us about yourself.
I am 16 years old and from Virginia. I am a Junior in High School and a Captain on the High School Dance Team. I have been modeling about 2 years.
Tell us about your modeling experience.
I've been actively modeling for the past 2 years. I attended Coco Rocha Model Camp in December 2018. I have runway experience and have walked in a number of fashion shows, which include walking in NYCFW for 3 seasons. I also have experience as a brand ambassador for local designers and boutiques. I've modeled for commercial photoshoots for local stores and designers as well. I've been published in Dreamy and Inspiring Teens Magazine.
What is your biggest dream?
Right now, I am focused on finishing high school and looking to select a college I will attend after graduation in 2021. I am not 100% sure what I will major in, but I have interest in Law and Public Relations. I really enjoy modeling and my dream would be to walk in a runway show in Paris and Milan.
What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?
To be authentic and true to yourself in all situations and not feel the pressure to be like everyone else.
How would you describe your fashion style?
I like to create my own style, and I tend to lean towards styles that are edgy and unique, while also staying in touch with the latest trends.
Who or what inspires you?
Women who empower other women inspire me. In the fashion world, Coco Rocha inspires me. I really admire what she has done in the fashion industry. She is an icon and continues to evolve her brand. It was so great to attend her model camp and get to know her. She is really a down to Earth person and really wants to help other aspiring achieve their goals.
What have been your greatest accomplishments?
Having just been modeling for a couple of years, I was excited to be published in several photographer magazines. I am also very proud of the brand that I have established for myself in my local area, as a model that brands and photographers want to work with.
Do you have any special talents?
I guess it depends on the definition of special. I have been taking dance since I was 3 and have stuck with it, so although it is probably not a special talent, it's a talent I really enjoy.
Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.
One challenge that I consistently have to overcome is my social anxiety. While it puts pressure on me in environments such as school, it has helped me turn to activities like modeling and dancing which make me feel more confident in myself and have helped me build some new and meaningful relationships.
What makes you beautiful/handsome?
I believe my kindness and selflessness are my best traits that make me beautiful.
What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?
I would say that at the end of the day, the way you feel about yourself is one of the most important things in life and to not let other people get in the way of that.
