Tell us about yourself
Hello there! I’m Aasta, a 20 year old visionary, spiritual seeker, student of arts and a lifelong learner. I’m currently studying New York.
What is your biggest dream?
My biggest dream is to realize all my dreams. Hahaha! Actually, my dream is to be my best version and build a strong character that can withstand anything, windfall or downfall.
What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?
Internal and external beauty which are linked come only with consistent self-work. If you’re a solid and wholesome person, you automatically choose to eat very nutritious foods, workout and take care of yourself which is what true beauty is all about.
Tell us about your modeling experience.
I have mostly done professional shoots on a time for portfolio basis with some photographers in NYC. I have also trained under Alesia Raut, a supermodel based in India.
What is your dream brand to model for?
I have grown up mesemerised by the feminine silhouette of the Ellie Saab couture gowns. The elegance and majesty that Ellie Saab represents is what makes it my dream brand.
How would you describe your fashion style?
My fashion style is a representation of what I feel on a particular day. However, I do like to make a splash in whatever I where. Generally, I prefer basic, elegant and sophisticated attire that accentuates my femininity.
How important is self-awareness and confidence to you in your everyday life?
It’s the basis of my existence. Every morning, I remind myself that it’s do or die. Either, I put my 100% in everything I do, or I pretty much should not commit to anything. My self confidence and self awareness stems from doing the Shambhavi Kriya, a powerful meditative spiritual practice.
What makes you beautiful/handsome?
I feel beautiful so I am. I work on myself every day to elevate myself spiritually, physically and mentally. If you think you’re sexy and your actions speak it, then you are undoubtedly sexy.
What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?
I’d tell them that even the most successful people suffer from confidence issues everyday. But these are the people who understand that the nagging voices in their heads are false and that their true worth lies in their actions and choices. Social conditioning at a young age causes everyone to be emotionally traumatized. However, it is your choice to become a victim or to believe in yourself no matter what happens.
