Tell us about yourself.
I am Mikayla, and I’m from Mason, Ohio! Being the oldest of 6 children, I love my siblings dearly and want to be someone they can look up to. I am passionate about all forms of art, as I love to cook, bake, paint, draw, and of course, model! Modeling has really become my passion over all lately, and I am excited to see where it takes me. 🌟
What is your biggest dream?
My biggest dream is to be successful in life and be able to do things I enjoy. I would love to have the opportunity to travel and see all the beauty the world has to offer!
What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?
I believe that being your own kind of beautiful means embracing every part of you that makes you unique in order to truly feel and convey confidence
Tell us about your modeling experience.
Within 3 months of modeling I have managed to go from shooting TFP, to earning up to $100 an hour modeling for local freelance photographers. I have had the opportunity to model for a local Boutique, as well as Zulily.com. Recently, I was published in the 49th edition of Dreamy Magazine. I had no idea I was going to have opportunities like these when I started back in April. I’ve put in a lot of work and my hard work has definitely paid off so far! I can’t wait to continue to grow through modeling and see where the industry may take me!
What is your dream brand to model for?
My dream brand to model for has to be Prada. I always admire the models that walk in their runway shows! Prada’s style is unique and classy, and is represented beautifully on models.
How would you describe your fashion style?
I would describe my fashion style as trendy but unique. I love to stay up to date on the latest fashions, but if I wear anything super trendy I’m likely to have it styled in my own way.
How important is self-awareness and confidence to you in your everyday life?
Self awareness and confidence are extremely important to me. I am all about character and staying true to yourself. When you are confident in who you are, it makes it that much easier to not stray from the true you!
What makes you beautiful?
What makes me beautiful is the general optimism and love I carry with me. I always present myself with a warm smile and kindness because I believe to be truly beautiful, you should make others feel beautiful and empowered as well.
What would you say to another girl your age who is struggling with their confidence?
I would tell another girl my age who is struggling with confidence that I have been in her place, and understand that sometimes is is easy to see yourself to critically. However, she shouldn’t feel like she has to be anyone other than her true self. True beauty is within and once you learn that it will be presented outwardly. I would tell her she should make a list of compliments she has heard from her friends, family, etc and post the list on her bedroom wall near her mirror so she feels empowered and remembers she is loved every day.
