My name is Mackenzie D. and I am from Longmont, Colorado. I am 22 years old and a recent college graduate from Franklin College in Indiana. I have been a competitive swimmer for 16 years and I swam all 4 years in college. I am very passionate about exercise, nutrition, and helping people. I love concerts and music festivals and I enjoy traveling and seeing new places. I am outgoing and love getting to know new people.
What is your biggest dream?
My biggest dream is to become a successful model or trainer and travel the world.
What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?
To be your own kind of beautiful means to be yourself no matter what anyone what else tells you or thinks. Everyone has something special about them that is different from everyone else and you should celebrate that. Being beautiful is also about how you treat others and being kind and humble towards one another.
Tell us about your modeling experience.
I am new to professional modeling. I have done many unpaid shoots with various photographers and friends in college who have really helped me build my portfolio.
What is your dream brand to model for?
Calvin Klein, Gucci, Victoria’s Secret, Nike, Revolve, Shein
How would you describe your fashion style?
I would say my style is a mix of everything. I tend have more of a 90s sense of fashion when putting together outfits but I also like to dress up at certain times. I also own a lot of athletic wear because it is super comfy.
How important is self-awareness and confidence to you in your everyday life?
Self-awareness and confidence are very important in my everyday life. Being confident in your abilities attracts people to you and gives you a sense of pride in yourself. I have gained a lot of confidence through my experiences in college and competitive swimming.
What makes you beautiful/handsome?
What makes me beautiful is my ability to connect with people and get along with anyone I meet. I love working with others and getting to know new people.
What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?
I would tell them that everyone is beautiful and different in their own way and that’s what makes that world unique. Everyone has their insecurities and even the people we think are perfect have something they don’t like about themselves. Staying positive and confident all the time is hard to do but just know everyone goes through their struggles and it’s okay not to be perfect. I would suggest trying to write down one thing you like about yourself every day and going back and reading what you wrote when you are feeling down.
