Anjeliah C.
Tell us about yourself.
Hi, my name is Anjeliah C, I am 18 years young, and I am from Sicklerville, New Jersey. I'm currently an incoming freshman at Rowan University and I will be majoring in Entrepreneurship. I love playing the saxophone, I love playing tennis, and most of all, I love shopping, getting dressed up & taking pictures.
What is your biggest dream?
My biggest dream is owning a successful clothing company that encourages and inspires various styles and one day expands to be bigger than Urban Outfitters, Guess, or even Louie Vuitton.
What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?
To be your own kind of beautiful is being independent, confident, and of course, being yourself and loving yourself without allowing other people to bring you down. Self-love is the principal because no matter what shape, size, or color you may be, true beauty is loving yourself and loving your own kind of beautiful.
Tell us about your modeling experience.
I don't have much modeling experience, but I did take a modeling/acting class for a few months when I was 13 years old. Also, in high school, a couple of photographers, including my high school's photographer, offered me to model for them to be a cover sample for the photo packages they sold to seniors or on their website.
What is your dream brand to model for?
My dream brand to model for would definitely have to be Chanel, no doubt.
How would you describe your fashion style?
My fashion style could be described in so many different ways but my favorite would have to be a business professional and casual. My other favorite styles are elegant, vibrant, sexy, trendy, preppy, girly, 70's 80's 90's, and even once in a while, exotic.
How important is self-awareness and confidence to you in your everyday life?
Confidence is something that I didn't always have, it's something that I built as I grew. I walk around every day with my shoulders back and my head held high because I believe that you cannot just have confidence, you must present it to set an example and to present yourself well. Self-awareness and confidence are very important to me because it took a while for me to gain it and it wasn’t easy, so even on my bad days when I am not feeling confident, I never show signs of weakness.
What makes you beautiful?
I do not allow the struggles I've been through in my past to define me, but they have built me into the person I am today. What makes me beautiful is the differences I have compared to others. My determination I have for happiness and success is not just for me but for my family and friends as well because I care for my loved ones and I want the best for everybody. What makes me beautiful isn’t just the exterior, it’s the tenacious, resilient mindset and warm heart that I withhold that I believe makes me a beautiful individual.
What would you say to another girl your age who is struggling with their confidence?
Be yourself is something I would say to another person my age who’s struggling with confidence. Be yourself, love yourself, make mistakes, and learn from them so you can grow into the best version of yourself. Don’t worry about what other people think or say about you because they are not living your life. Challenge yourself, set goals and achieve them so you can have the ambition to see what you are capable of, and to realize that you don’t need to compare yourself to others, but only to the person you were yesterday. Recognize that people will always judge you no matter who you are or what you do, so be yourself, be the best that you can be, and be confident while doing it all.
