Tell us about yourself.

My name is Ellen Mangra. I am 20 years old and I have been modeling since I was 16. I was born in Queens, NY. I am proud of my Indo-Caribbean background. It has been a vital part of shaping me into the person I am today.

What is your biggest dream?

My biggest dream is to become an attorney. I want to practice immigration law and help those in need.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

It means to be you and not worry about the world's standards of beauty. The goal is to be unapologetically yourself.

Tell us about your modeling experience.

I have been modeling since I was 16. I love to be a part of creative shoots that channel my artistic side.

What is your dream brand to model for?

I would love to model for Fenty Beauty. It's amazing that the brand is geared towards darker skin complexions and helpful to a woman much like myself.

How would you describe your fashion style?

My fashion style is ever changing. I often sway between girly girl and dark/edgy. I believe your fashion style should reflect your personality and how you feel that morning when you get up. I often wear lipstick and outfits that match my mood.

How important is self-awareness and confidence to you in your everyday life?

Confidence and self-awareness are very important and go hand in hand in everyday life. You have to be self-aware of your flaws so you can constantly work at being a better version of yourself. Confidence is critical. It shows the world you love and know who you are.

What makes you beautiful?

I think what makes you beautiful is the way you carry yourself and how you make others feel. If someone can walk away from you feeling uplifted than you are beautiful.

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?

There is only one you in the world. That is your superpower.
