I am a twenty year old model and fashion journalist from Birmingham, Alabama, but living in NYC. I attend Pace University and major in English.
What is your biggest dream?
My biggest dream is to have a career as a model while owning my own clothing line and fashion magazine as well.
What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?
Being your own kind of beautiful means that you are comfortable in your own skin and body. Having a unique characteristic about yourself that sets you aside from everyone else. Beauty comes from within, so when you are confident in yourself and recognize your own beauty, so will everyone else.
Tell us about your modeling experience.
My modeling experience has not been completely easy. I am in no way the ideal image of a model as far as weight goes, therefore, I have experienced a large amount of setbacks when it comes to being a model. However, modeling is a outlet of creative expression for me, it allows me to channel an artist within myself, while wearing some of the most beautiful pieces ever created.
What is your dream brand to model for?
My dream brands to model for would be Yves Saint Laurent and Diane Von Furstenberg.
How would you describe your fashion style?
My fashion style is very edgy mixed with a classic elegance. I love wearing leather and huge furs with turtlenecks and heels. And I also love pearls and button downs haha!
How important is self-awareness and confidence to you in your everyday life?
Self-awareness and confidence is extremely important to me in my everyday life. I believe that if you are not confident in yourself and are not aware of who you are and your potential...then you will not go very far. You have to believe in yourself before you believe in anyone else.
What makes you beautiful?
I think that what makes me beautiful is my ability to see the beauty in other people.
What would you say to another girl your age who is struggling with their confidence?
I would tell another girl my age struggling with confidence that : In order to gain confidence you have to believe that you can achieve anything that you set your mind to. Sometimes you have to have courage and step out on faith in order to achieve your biggest dreams. Having courage is a scary thing, I was once told that, "Courage is fear with prayer." But when you face your fears...and WIN, you will have so much confidence. Courage is the first key to confidence.
