Tell us about yourself

My name is Cindy R. and I live in Hyattsville, Maryland. I like to play soccer, go to concerts and go thrifting with friends. I am currently in college majoring in general studies. I plan on transferring to a fashion design school and majoring in fashion design/fashion styling.

What is your biggest dream?

My biggest dream is to become a famous/known model just like Gigi Hadid and walk for famous designers. (Ex: Versace, Chanel, Dior, Tommy Hilfiger, etc.)

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

Being my own kind of beautiful is being able to be myself and having high confidence. It also means to be positive and free of judgment. It means to love yourself and accept yourself.

Tell us about your modeling experience.

I started my modeling experience when I was 17. I got signed with John Casablancas Center in Baltimore, MD. There I learned how to walk on the runway, what to bring/wear to a model casting and how to prep for photoshoots. After that, I started to collaborate/work with photographers in expanding my portfolio.

What is your dream brand to model for?

I would LOVE to model for Chanel. I absolutely love how in every show they have a different runway setup. I also love the products the brand has made. (Ex: purses, clothes, shoes.)

How would you describe your fashion style?

I would describe my style uniquely aesthetic. Most of the time my style switches from tomboy to modern chic. Sometimes I like to recreate looks based on my style icons: Zendaya, Gigi Hadid & Jhene Aiko. It's all really based on my mood.

How important is self-awareness and confidence to you in your everyday life?

Self awareness and confidence takes part in my every day life from the minute I get up in the morning. My confidence helps me feel my best and helps my self-esteem. Self awareness has helped me feel more confident and empowered in myself. Both has help me to improve as a person.

What makes you beautiful/handsome?

What makes me beautiful is my energy I give off to others. My personality and big heart makes me beautiful. I used to think I wasn’t beautiful based on my appearance but it all changed when I started to accept and love myself. The main key was confidence and self love.

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?

I would say “don’t let others judge or get to you” we all have struggled with our confidence but at the end of the day we all overcome it. It’s just an obstacle in life. It takes time to gain self confidence and to love yourself. You just have to view things in a positive point of view.
