Tell us about yourself.

16 year old actress, singer, dancer, and model from Connecticut. Sofia Rosato is a junior in high school at “Greater Hartford Academy of The Arts” in Hartford CT, where she studies as a musical theatre major. Sofia trains in acting, singing, and dancing lessons. Performing is Sofia’s favorite thing to do. She goes out in the community with her vocal coach and sings as a soloist.Her vocal coach is Dan Kane from MA. She always believes in kindness and has been an ambassador for five years for two anti-bullying organizations to try and prevent bullying from happening. The organizations are called “Ballerina’s Aganist Bullies” and “Unify Against Bullying”. Sofia is very passionate about the performing arts and wants to further pursue it as a career. 

What is your biggest dream?

Being on Broadway or in a Hollywood movie.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful? 

I believe everyone is beautiful as long as they have a kind heart and they give back to people in their community. Being yourself is the best kind of beautiful. Don’t let the world change who you are, instead make a good change in our world. 

Tell us about your modeling experience.

I’ve been in many photo shoots as a dancer since I was 2 years old, but I didn’t start legit modeling until i was about 13 years old. I got scouted by a photographer from LA named, Rich Clark. He asked me to be one of his “Mystical Models”. I did photo shoots with him in NYC. I modeled brands that have came to Ballerinas Against Bullies events. Such as the brands: Rae Benson, BeUniquelyyou, Stella M’Lia, Discount Dance, and Ivivva. I’ve worked with amazing photographers who are: Rich Clark, Lily Shames, James Cook, Stacey K. Photography, and Yana Vpr. 

What is your dream brand to model for?

I can’t pick one so I would say Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Forever 21, and Lululemon. 

How would you describe your fashion style?

I like to dress edgy and unique. I like to be extra and wear things that make me stand out.  I like ripped jeans and a cute top as casual wear paired with some hoops in my ears, a fancy necklace and bracelet, rings on my fingers, and a pair of either adidas, nike, or fila sneakers. Or a pair of heels if i’m feeling fancy. 

How important is self-awareness and confidence to you in your everyday life?

It is very important to be confident and comfortable in your own skin. As a performer and a model you have to be willing to show people yourself and not be shy. Taking self care days and surrounding yourself with supportive family and friends helps a lot. Take out any negativity in your life. 

What makes you beautiful?

What makes me beautiful is my personality. I’m very kind to others and I have a goofy/ quirky personality. I love to have fun and be myself. I take care of myself and surround myself with good people. 

What would you say to another girl your age who is struggling with their confidence?

I would say to her that she is beautiful and to not let some of the cruel people in our society change the way she is. I would say be yourself, love yourself, and take time to care for yourself.
