Chanice J.
Tell us about yourself.
My name is Chanice J, I grew up in the Inland Empire area, such as Eastvale, CA. I am a 19 year old puerto rican, black, and creole girl currently living in Hollywood. I love dance and I have a passion for fashion and beauty.
Tell us about your modeling experience
Growing up my biggest goal in life is to become a model, but living in Eastvale it was challenging because of the area. Moving to Hollywood has definitely helped me gain some experience with the model industry, such as The Model Experience starring Rio Summers. Besides that fashion show, I’ve only been to casting calls around Los Angeles.
What is your biggest dream?
My biggest dream is to pursue a career in the modeling industry in prints, ads, and fashion shows. I want to set the stage for younger generations, and promote body confidence and raw genuine beauty. Becoming a model I can help inspire young girls my age to be the best version of themselves.
What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?
To be your own kind of beautiful means to feel natural and confident in your own skin. Your own kind of beauty is all dependent on who you are as a person. No other opinion matters, because we’re all created uniquely in our own way.
Describe your fashion style.
There wouldn’t be one exact way to describe my style because I’m into various beauty styles and trends. I love to mix up my style, and try different looks.
Who or what inspires you?
My biggest inspiration in life is definitely my family. Growing up my life was hard, because I never really had a true connection with my family, and we grew up in tough situations. My family is my inspiration to be the best version of me, and to pursue my goals in modeling. Especially for my siblings, we’ve all been through hard times and I know how proud they would be.
What have been your greatest accomplishments?
My greatest accomplishments so far, is exactly where I am in life now. I’m grateful for every opportunity that I encounter because it brings me one step closer to my goal in life.
Do you have any special talents?
One special talent that I have is I love to dance. I love all styles, but mainly I love to focus on lyrical and jazz. I love to do hip-hop for fun, but it’s definitely a genre I need more practice in.
Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.
Being separated from my biological parents at an early age was probably the biggest obstacle in my life. Growing up without your parents is hard because you feel like you’re life isn’t “complete” or “normal” without them. Luckily, I’ve had my siblings to be with me throughout everything. Even though my childhood was very chaotic and out of the ordinary, it’s built me into the person I am today. Everything I’ve faced has taught me to do better.
What makes your beautiful?
I honestly think my personality and smile is what makes me beautiful. I have always been told that I have a smile that can brighten up a room, and my personality as well. I always try to spread as much positive energy because it’s who I am.
What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?
If another girl/guy were struggling with confidence I would tell them to stop caring about others opinion, and what everyone else expects you to be. Be who you truly want to be. Find your true self, love that and believe in it.
