Tell us about yourself
Born in Virginia and raised in the heart of Georgia, I am the eldest of three in a blended family. In 2022, my family and I embarked on the journey of a lifetime, living in an RV and exploring 48 US states in 48 weeks.
This period of exploration and self-discovery inspired me to launch my podcast, "Making Waves with Moanna Adams," when I was just 15. Through my podcast, I dive into teen mental health, self-love, personal growth, and relationships, often featuring inspiring young guests who share their unique perspectives and experiences.
I'm homeschooled, which gives me the flexibility to pursue my passions. As an avid climber, hiker, and reader, I constantly seek new heights and perspectives. My independence and ambition drive my personal growth, and I eagerly seize every opportunity to laugh, dance, and explore outside my comfort zone.
Tell us about your modeling experience.
Modeling is a new adventure for me. At the start of 2024, I chose “uncomfortable” as my word of the year. I wanted to push myself out of my comfort zone and chase rejection to foster personal growth. Modeling had always interested me but I didn’t have the confidence to pursue it until I started to push myself more and more.
What is your biggest dream?
I don’t have dreams I have goals. Some of my biggest goals include financial freedom, visiting every continent, becoming a polyglot, and growing my podcast to 1M downloads.
What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?
Being your own kind of beautiful means embracing yourself for who you are. Loving yourself for your unique qualities and flaws.
How would you describe your fashion style?
You can always count on me to be dressed (or overdressed) for the occasion. I am minimalist and love 90’s and 50’s fashion. For nicer occasions, I love a classy, simple but elegant look that is very cohesive. Long-fitted gowns, gold jewelry, and my favorite stilettos. Day to day I love wearing elevated basics Kate Moss, Lily-Rose Depp style. Some staple pieces in my wardrobe are lowrise jeans, fitted tanks, baby tees, and, high-top Converse.
Who or what inspires you?
I am inspired by many successful women past and present. Some of my biggest inspirations are Julie Andrews, Marilyn Monroe, Spencer Barbosa, Tam Kaur, Susie Wolff, Naomi Campbell, Lila Moss, Emma Watson, and Angelina Jolie.
What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?
Make sure you lock down the basics and network. Do loads of research to ensure you know the fundamentals of the industry. Attend events, make connections, and build relationships with others in the field.
Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.
Living on the road at 14/15 and not being around others my age for a year was extremely lonely. It taught me independence and how to enjoy my own company. Learning to be alone but not lonely has helped me grow immensely over the past few years and helped me start my podcast.
What makes you beautiful/handsome?
My energy and confidence. I believe beauty is a feeling that varies day to day. On days when I wake up energized and truly confident in myself, those are the days I feel most beautiful.
What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?
Work on keeping promises to yourself. Confidence has to start with being able to trust yourself and your capabilities. If you say you will do something follow through and do it. Over time you’ll build trust with yourself and self-confidence will follow.
