Tell us about yourself:

My name is Kylie W. Growing up in a small town on a farm in Colorado, I was immersed in the beauty of nature and rural life as a child. I learned the values of hard work and resilience from a young age, which ultimately led me to believe I CAN do anything I put my mind to, and that’s just what I did. I am 20 years old and pursuing my bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. I love to travel, spend time with friends, and I am always picking up new hobbies.

Tell us about your modeling experience.

I’m new to the modeling industry. I used to always compare myself to others, wishing I looked different. Any time I was struggling with this, my best friends growing up would tell me, “You could be a model!” It’s because of them that I finally went for it, and I couldn’t be more grateful to have their full support.

What is your biggest dream?

Picking only one isn’t easy! My biggest dream, no matter what that might look like, is to make a positive impact in the world. I am working toward many personal goals in order to make that happen.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

To be your own kind of beautiful is to embrace your own style and uniqueness. There will always be trends to follow, but I like to consider my own style within those trends. Let your heart shine through your physical appearance.

How would you describe your fashion style?

My style includes a range of fashion, including classic, trendy, casual, and formal. While I do wear a lot of neutrals, I like to incorporate color into my everyday style - whether that’s a colorful outfit, or just a pop of color in a handbag or pair of earrings. I have always loved experimenting with new pieces.

Who or what inspires you?

I am inspired by my mom. She has the kindest heart and is always willing to help. I strive to be like her every day.

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?

If you're just getting into modeling, focus on building a “brand” for yourself. Who do you want to be? What do you want people to associate you with? Upload high-quality images that show your features the best. Stay persistent!

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.

Growing up in a small town is a struggle of its own. You are protected, but limited in opportunities. I had to learn that not everyone is going to be on my side, and that’s okay. I learned that I have no obligation to follow the expectations that others have set for me. I do what makes me happy and what gets me a step closer to my end goals.

What makes you beautiful/handsome?

I was created in the image of God, and so were you! He makes no mistakes, making each and every one of us beautiful individually.

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?

You are unique and valuable just as you are. Building confidence is a process, and it's okay to take small steps. Start with posture and walking with confidence. Avoid voicing negative thoughts about your physical appearance, and only think of and say the things you would tell a friend to boost their confidence. Celebrate your progress, be patient with yourself, and keep moving forward. You’ve got this!
