Tell us about yourself

My name is Kimberly, I am based out of  Dallas, TX. Apart from modeling, I also am a commercial actor and I have my own podcast called Kimbo’s Slice (of Life), where I interview creatives in the industry on how they got started in their career and where they are at in their journey.

Tell us about your modeling experience.

My modeling experience started mid covid. In July 2020, I attended Bella Modeling School. It was a 5-month program that truly opened doors for me. I learned the ins and outs of modeling, from posing techniques to runway, and tips on finding an agency. I graduated from Bella Modeling School the following year and I got signed with my first Talent agency. My journey has been nothing short of amazing and I can’t wait for what the future holds.

What is your biggest dream?

My biggest dream is to be on a billboard.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

To be your own kind of beautiful means embracing your unique qualities and not comparing yourself to others. It’s about feeling confident in who you are.

How would you describe your fashion style?

It depends on what kind of mood I’m in. Sometimes I’ll throw on a cute skirt or dress and other days, I’ll wear cargo pants and sneakers. But I like to be comfortable more than anything so street style is more my niche.

Who or what inspires you?

Drake truly inspires me. He is consistent and determined in his work.

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?

Do the leg work. Educate yourself in the industry. Practice. Network. Network. Network. Like any passion, to succeed you must put 100% into that success. With the dawn of social media came the opportunity to make anyone and nearly anything accessible to you. Use that to your advantage. Take care of your health, work out, and eat right. Be thick skinned. Be prepared for rejection. Keep supporters around you, they are your biggest motivators.

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.

Asking for help is one of the biggest obstacles I had to overcome. I used to be scared to ask for help because I was too scared of what others would think. But I had to change my mindset because asking for help doesn’t make you any less or weak. It’s simply asking questions to help better understand and I think that’s a brave thing to do.

What makes you beautiful/handsome?

What makes me beautiful is how I love. I love so hard and I care so much for the people close to me and I think that’s such a beautiful thing to grasp.

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?

As cliche as this may sound, don’t compare yourself to others. Everyone has a different path and you are on your path. Give yourself a break because you don’t know what it takes for someone to get where they are. So go at your own pace. God has a plan for you, just have faith.
