Tell us about yourself
I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area (not a bad place to grow up!)
I am currently in grad school at Columbia University, specializing in environmental public health and sustainability. I want to use my passions to encourage beauty and fashion brands to be held accountable for sustainable practices across the board.
What is your biggest dream?
My biggest dream is to travel as much as I possibly can and collaborate with other models, creatives, and boss entrepreneurs across the spectrum.
What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?
To me, beauty starts inside before it shows on the outside. You have to be empathetic and exuberate confidence from within to be your own kind of beautiful, whatever that entails.
How would you describe your fashion style?
My style is more on the girly side and chic/elegant. I try to play around with streetwear more now that I am in NYC, and even gravitate towards more minimalism when I can. Honestly, fashion is so personal to me and my tastes shift according to my mood.
Who or what inspires you?
My mom inspires me because she is the OG fashion queen and has such a big, beautiful heart.
What is your advice for someone who is just getting started with modeling?
Don't be discouraged if things aren't going the way you want them to. It all falls into place eventually; you just have to start!
Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.
The biggest obstacle that I have overcome is linked with my depression and anxiety from being bullied growing up and having some really unhealthy relationships in my life, whether it be family, friends, or even romantic partners. I developed some unhealthy eating habits and let my overthinking get in the way of becoming the better version of me and that is something I am consistently working on. I have come such a long way and modeling and creating has been a positive outlet for me to overcome these major obstacles in my life.
What makes you beautiful/handsome?
I think my love and light shine through my personality to make me genuinely beautiful.
What would you say to another girl/ guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?
Shut off the noise and stay true to yourself ALWAYS. It helps to build confidence and keep your mental health in check. Confidence takes time to build, but as long as you stay authentically you, you will get there!
