Tell us about yourself
I am 22 years old, born in NYC and raised on Long Island, New York. I am studying for my Finance BBA and currently employed as an automotive leasing & sales consultant for the Jeep brand. My hobbies consist of swimming/aquatic activities, dance (as I have been in a dance company from pre-k till senior year of hs), photography, exercising (hikes, gym workouts), many more but these are the main hobbies I find myself participating most in.
Tell us about your modeling experience.
In 2017 I was enrolled in Barbrizon's modeling course which was 6 months of in-person training amongst 25 girls. They taught me all about confidence, commercials, runway positioning and posing, photoshoot posture, speech, modeling preparation, the list goes on. I mainly have done small work for the community such as my fellow classmates were aspiring photographers which I let them use my appearance to help build their portfolios and as well as aspiring artists I have participated in music videos.
What is your biggest dream?
My biggest dream is to be a role model and be so successful to where I can help out the world become a better place. I dream of becoming such a successful business woman to where I could retire my mother and fly out to third world countries and help communities handing our basic life necessities.
What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?
Beauty is within the soul and mind. Beauty isn't just about looks, for example how many times have you crushed on someone beautiful but yet you have gotten a taste of their persona and they turned out to be disrespectful, rude, and the list goes on. To me that makes a person unbeautiful. Beauty is obtained within the heart and how it is applied to life.
How would you describe your fashion style?
We all go through phases of style, I'd like to say I have a taste mix for every genre of style but mainly I adore a classy chic, modern business casual, old money luxury styling.
Who or what inspires you?
My mother is my biggest inspiration, she's the woman I've watched overcome any obstacle and a lady of all traits and talent. Her strong attitude and mindset guided me to build a well understanding of life and its grounding.
What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?
Practice, practice, practice confidence and speech. I was very shy when it came to being on stage and talking on camera, if it wasn't for my job experience and practice I wouldn't have gained my comfort in public speaking and stage performing. I do not have much experience myself but to anyone brand new starting out I'd recommend practicing on form, speech, act, and ease of comfort within publicity.
Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.
My late teen years I lost my job that I really enjoyed which set me back financially harshly, three months later I fell for a scam on the internet that set me deep with thousands of being in debt. In such a short time frame losing my job and struggling to pay bills on time and afford basic life necessities to then fall for a scam that I wasn't eligible to be compensated back for. I really thought it would take me years to get back up on my feet, which led me into a depressed and unmotivated state of mind. I hustled so hard working 14 hour shifts, double jobs, limiting myself to what I could participate myself in/ purchase goods, to remake back for the mistakes I've created to fast forwarding myself two years later debt free making the most money I've ever held. This lesson has taught me adulthood, money management, love for God, and gratefulness. When all these events crashed down on me in such a short time frame, it took me two years to find hope and strength and now I feel more prepared to tackle any obstacles that come across my daily life.
What makes you beautiful/handsome?
My personality, I do get a lot of recognition for my work ethics, kindness and care. I always had the nurturing instinct in me to help others and care for all around me. I am always the person you can call and count on for any help and I think that makes me beautiful.
What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?
People tend to struggle with confidence more often now because of social media. I struggled with confidence for a really long time till I educated myself and read a lot on how to stop the addiction/obsession of comparing yourself to others. I constantly compare myself to girls who I thought were beautiful in my eyes, but I realized it's all photography and editing skills. When I got high quality pictures taken of myself I realized "I can look like them too", a phone will never have the results of a high quality camera which 99% of these beautiful influencers get their photos professionally taken and lightly edited to perfection. As far as body image confidence which I struggled for a while. I was always jealous of these influencers. Coming to a realization a lot isn't real, but I was so tired of not liking my own skin which motivated me to get serious on exercise, leading to consistency with results I thought I couldn't obtain. You have to want it so bad to act on it and improve for the better naturally. That was a powerful moment and inspired me to fall in love with myself. It's all about the growth of power in control to your mindset and thoughts.
