Tell us about yourself.

I’m a Florida native, but I’ve moved and traveled quite a bit for work. I grew up in a very small town-we don’t have a grocery store and we only have one stoplight. The kind of town where you see everyone underneath the Friday night lights, and you sit next to them in the pew on Sunday morning. I love coming back home to my small town, but I never fully unpack my suitcase before I’m back on the road.

I’m a former politico, a passionate advocate for U.S. agriculture, and a “beauty queen.” I’m the current Miss Florida United States and will compete for the title of Miss United States in October.

What is your biggest dream?

I cannot wait to be a wife & a mother. In the meantime, I enjoy working with aspiring pageant contestants. I love helping them shine in the interview room, on stage, and throughout their communities. I am also in the process of becoming a published children’s author.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

Being your own kind of beautiful means embracing what makes you unique or different. It’s so easy to open social media and compare yourself to others. “I need arms like her.” “I wish I had her figure.” “I want lips like her.” We often forget there’s probably something about us someone else wishes THEY had. Instead of longing for what others have, we should appreciate and learn how to accentuate what we have been given. I think once we learn to do this, we unlock a new level of beautiful. Confidently beautiful.

How would you describe your fashion style?

I would describe my fashion style as Classic-Influencer-Chic, very “Stassi Schroeder-esque.” I am constantly checking her Instagram for inspiration via her #OOTDs. I love neutrals, stripes, deep rich colors, minimal jewelry, and an overall clean & effortless look.

Who or what inspires you?

A Bible verse I consider to be my life verse, is Matthew 5:16. It reads, “Let your light shine before others so they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in Heaven.” This verse helps keep me grounded and reminds me to give every victory and accolade I receive to the Lord.

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?

The three pieces of advice I would give to someone who is just getting into modeling would be to get comfortable in front of the camera, learn how to take constructive criticism, and to practice. Learning to take feedback, knowing your angles & mastering your technique, and being able to jump right into a shoot, make everything more fun and productive!

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.

In my early twenties, I was in an abusive relationship. It was always something I never thought would happen to me. Years have gone by and I am still learning to trust myself and my judgement, but I have become more empathetic towards others and my faith in Jesus Christ was strengthened through the process.

What makes you beautiful?

I think beauty comes from within. As my nana would say, “Pretty is as Pretty does.” Having compassion for others and being a genuine friend is what makes me beautiful.

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?

I would tell them to make a list of things they love about themselves. It could be physical characteristics, personality traits, abilities or qualities. I would challenge them to add something new to that list each day. I would tell them to reflect on the list often and to give thanks for each thing they listed. I believe gratefulness and insecurity cannot coexist in one’s heart.
