Gracie M.

Tell us about yourself:

My name is Gracie. I am from South Louisiana.

I am a young girl but BIG dream which I will achieve.

Tell us about your modeling experience:

My modeling career has been a journey really. I always dreamed of being a model but with the way I grew up I never really got the opportunity to put myself in the world of fashion. When I was about 16 years old I tried out for the Barbizon Agency and got in to it. But my Aunt and Uncle (who adopted me at the age of 16) they didn’t want me to branch out that far yet so I gave it a rest. Then started taking classes with John Casablancas to be trained. After that, I went to Houston to get pictures taken and now I am trying to become a full time model.

What is your biggest dream?

My biggest dream is to have a full time modeling career. Also I want to be able to have everything I want in life. I want to be better than the people who raised me and anyone who ever doubted me.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

To be your own kind of beautiful means to be your own authentic self. Acting like something your not isn’t a beautiful thing but being your real self and letting people see your real beauty in and out is everything,

How would you describe your fashion style?

My fashion style is everywhere. I can go to high fashion to street wear in a second as well as casual to classy or preppy.

Who or what inspires you?

I don’t think anyone can inspire me but myself. I wouldn’t be where I was at today if I didn’t have myself.

But lets day I have a celebrity inspiration it would be Bella Hadid. She is an icon. She is beautiful inside and out and so kind.

What advice would you give to someone just starting their modeling career?

The advice I would give to someone starting their modeling career is don’t listen to what anyone has to say negatively. Be yourself, go out there and try. The worst answer is no and everyone has been told no. Get back up and try again and again until you finally get that one yes and succeed. Never give up on your dreams because one day you WILL make it to where you want to be if you want if that bad.

Describe some obstacle you have overcome in your life and how has that changed or shaped you?

Some obstacles that have made me the person that I am today would be growing up with no mother and barely a father. I had to be the parent in my own home for several years. I have been through mental, physical and emotional abuse. I know what not having hot water is like, not knowing if you will have food the next day or if the lights will be on. I have been called every name in the book by my father, the most hurtful things one can say to their daughter. But none of that has made me lose sight of who I am inside.

What makes you beautiful?

I think what makes me beautiful is the heart I have. I have a very big heart even for people who have done me nothing but wrong. I would still give someone the jacket off my back to keep them warm instead of myself.

What would you say to another girl who is struggling with their confidence?

If someone was struggling with their confidence, I would tell them to look in the mirror and tell yourself your amazing, strong, confident, beautiful/handsome and to never let someone tell them different. The only opinion that matters is your own
