Tell us about yourself

I’m Steph! I split my time between Washington DC and New York.

My hobbies include boxing, reading, hiking to see as much nature as possible, and going to the theater with my friends.

Tell us about your modeling experience.

I began my modeling career with runway shows and a magazine editorial thanks to the DC Fashion Week community. I was selected to walk with the NBA’s Washington Wizard’s for their charity style showcase in 2023, and had a blast connecting art and community action- my two greatest passions in life.

I began working with brands in 2024, and am thoroughly enjoying commercial and editorial shoots.

What is your biggest dream?

My biggest dream outside of continuing my public service efforts is to walk for my favorite luxury brands during NYFW.

I’ve modeled strength and resilience via my political advocacy in the face of misogyny and manipulation, now I’d like to model artistic visions on the runway and in editorial features to show femmes everywhere we can be dynamic, with brains and beauty.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

Beauty, to me, comes from within. It’s cliche for a reason! Spreading kindness, cultivating compassion, and helping others shine their light is my kind of beautiful.

How would you describe your fashion style?

I am a style chameleon. Sometimes I like to sport heels and couture, most of the time I prefer edgier streetwear and Mom jeans.

Who or what inspires you?

First and foremost- the women in my life. My grandmother was one of the first circuit board manufacturers in the USA- who also modeled back in the 1930’s.  She taught me not to engage anyone who attempted to keep me small, or stay within the confines of a social construct. My Mom created gorgeous floral arts in spite of her battle with systemic lupus, and was featured in America’s Who’s Who of American Women. Their commitment to love, community, and STEAM truly empowers me to pursue whatever my heart desires.

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?

Develop a strong self concept, learn healthy boundaries, and just DO IT! Reach out to folks in creative community spaces to collaborate, you might be surprised at which makeup artists need models for their content.

I never expected to be cast in my first runway show without an agent, but that’s how I eventually became a signed model! The world is waiting for you and the unique life force you exude, so send in your digitals. What’s the worst that can happen? Nothing? What’s the best that could happen?!

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.

I survived emergency kidney surgery and was released from my Congressional internship early as a result. Thankfully, the member of Congress I worked for rejected his staff’s ableism and encouraged me to continue my advocacy efforts- which I continue to do.

What appeared to me at the time as the worst-case-scenario, was a huge blessing. I learned that each day is a gift, an opportunity to share your light and joy with the world.

What makes you beautiful/handsome?

Internally, my community-centered approach to life and tendency towards compassion makes me beautiful. Externally, I love my wild hair and naturally full lips.

What would you say to another person your age who is struggling with their confidence?

I’d ask anyone struggling with their confidence whose voice it is telling them they’re not enough for whatever it is they wish to pursue. Is it your voice? Or did someone else project their insecurity on to you, and you internalized that? More often than not we lose confidence by taking someone’s negative energy, or careless comments too personally, but it was never ours to carry. However, if those confidence struggles are innate, removed from the context of community, then I’d advise putting yourself out there for your dream opportunities even more. Learn about autobiographical thinking, self concept, and not to personalize the social. Know who you are, your values, and what you love, then nothing can shake your confidence. And if that doesn’t work, loving on small cuddly animals usually does the trick for me! Shout out to my cat-baby Siobhan!
