Tell us about yourself

My name is Jamisyn K. and I’m from Florida, but I am currently living in Pennsylvania. At 14

years old, I am enrolled in public school where I have a 4.0 grade point average and received

Distinguished Honors. While I am not in school, I enjoy dancing and playing volleyball.

Tell us your modeling experience

I started modeling fairly young, winning multiple photogenic competitions. I have modeled for a dance

costume company, and also did a runway show for a dance wear company. I won the Miss Pennsylvania

Volunteer Headshot Contest. I just recently walked in New York Fashion Week.

What is your biggest dream?

I would love to open my own modeling agency one day and help girls gain confidence through modeling.

I have always admired watching girls fall in love with themselves from modeling. It would be a dream to

work with hard working girls who are always looking for a way to better themselves and help others as

well.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

To me, being your own kind of beautiful is to just be yourself. It is so beautiful to see a person who is

their true, authentic self and not worried about how the are compared to someone else. Quiet

confidence is a beautiful look on anyone.

How would you describe your fashion style?

My fashion style is a mix of everything. Depending on my mood, I might dress more casual, or dress up

in jeans or a dress. As long as I feel confident and am my best self, I know it is the right style for the day.

Who or what inspires you?

I am truly inspired everyday by my Mom. She has shaped me into the young lady I have become and has

helped me overcome every challenge. She gave me an amazing work ethic which has driven me to chase

my dreams.

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?

My advice to someone who is starting modeling would be to have full confidence in yourself and your

ability. All you can do is out yourself out there and work for what you want. You create your own

opportunities.

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how they have changed or shaped you.

Growing up as a competitive dancer, I have always been self conscious about my body. Being around so

many beautiful girls caused me at such a young age to start comparing myself to others. I would always

say, “Her waist is slimmer” or “Her legs are stronger”. However, someone else’s beauty is not the

absence of your own. I had very low self esteem and never felt that I was good enough. Looking back, I

am happy that I went through this because it taught me a lot. When I was at that very low point in my

life, I knew I had to get my confidence back. I spent months focusing on myself and learning to love

myself again. Now, anytime my confidence is low, I look back at the girl I was and I give myself the extra

love she always deserved.

What makes you beautiful/handsome?

I love myself on the outside, but what makes me beautiful is the girl I am on the inside. My dedication,

work ethic, kind heart, and the love I give others is who I am.

What would you say to another girl/boy your age who is struggling with their confidence?

Anyone who is struggling with their confidence should know that they are not alone. Everyone is

beautiful in their own ways and that’s what makes this world so beautiful. Everyone has something that

makes them themselves, so always be you!
