Tell about yourself:
I am originally from Ghana, and immigrated to Tampa Bay when I was 8. I currently live in the
Washington, D.C. area where I work as a Cancer Research Fellow at the National Institutes of
Health. I also write poetry and enjoy spending time outdoors.
Tell us about your modeling experience:
I have been modeling for about a year an have done 2 commercial/beauty shoots as well as 2
creative collaborations. I’m represented by Divine Souls Management in NYC and Hannah
Noelle Models in Tampa, and look forward to expanding my portfolio!
What is your biggest dream:
Next fall I will be beginning medical school to achieve my childhood dream of becoming a
doctor. I hope to treat patients from medically underserved communities, with a focus on primary
healthcare and issues of women’s health.
What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?
I believe that one’s internal character dictates your external beauty.
How would you describe your fashion style?
My fashion is classic yet eclectic, I enjoy experimenting with a range of styles and eras.
Who or what inspires you?
As an African woman, I take a great deal of inspiration from my culture and community. From
our clothing, to our music, to our values, the vibrancy of African culture molds much of my
creative vision.
What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?
It is crucial to remain authentic to oneself and committed to your personal journey. No model is
the same, and everyone’s career will look different. Learn what styles and niches you feel most
comfortable in, and pursue every opportunity to build your craft and showcase your talents!
Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or
shaped you.
It has been challenging to navigate being a Ghanaian immigrant in the U.S., but I have learned
to find joy in my blended upbringing.
What makes you beautiful/handsome?
My beauty is evident in my character, and I often return to this verse to remind myself of that:
“Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.”
Proverbs 31:30
What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?
Celebrate the fact that there is not, and has never been, another human being with the same
face, form, and figure as you. You are a unique soul with inherent beauty that no one can take away from you.
