Tell us about yourself
Hi! My name’s Mia Blocker I’m 18 and I live in Boston Massachusetts!! Growing up dancing has sparked my interest in modeling and the way movements tell a story.
Tell us about your modeling experience.
I don’t really have any modeling experience besides my claim to to fame in my local Nordstrom’s store fashion show when I was 8 and 9. Other than that I’m excited to share myself with the world and see what I can accomplish!
What is your biggest dream?
My biggest dream is for the world to know who I am and to have a positive impact on many peoples lives.
What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?
Being your own kind of beautiful means believing in yourself regardless of others opinions. You’re the only person who has to believe in your beauty. There’s beauty in everyone from their kindness to their positive influences in others lives.
How would you describe your fashion style?
I definitely consider myself to be more of a causal and baggy dresser. I love trying new looks and adding unique twists but it really depends on the day and my mood.
Who or what inspires you?
My mom has always inspired me. Her kindness and grit has taught me more in life than anything. She pushes me to work hard and to be kind to everyone regardless of any circumstances and for that I’m grateful to have been raised by a strong woman like her.
What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?
I don’t know how qualified I am to give advice on this but nothing will get done if you give up. It doesn’t matter how long it takes because it will eventually happen, but you’ll never know that if you give up.
Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.
Being bullied when I was younger because of my beauty mark made me a very insecure and quiet child. I’m still learning to embrace my inner beauty and cherish it just as much as we do physical beauty.
What makes you beautiful/handsome?
I’m very proud of myself for treating everyone with kindness and always reaching out to others as a friend. We’re all going through something and one more caring person in someones life can be a huge positive impact.
What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?
It’s hard and nothing happens overnight but the only opinion that truly matters is yours. When you think about it, you’re spending the rest of your life with yourself and you have to learn to love yourself for who you are or else no one will. We show people how we are meant to be treated so care and invest in yourself! We’re all special and beautiful in our own ways and it’s about realizing and unlocking that.
