Tell us about yourself: My name is Maria J, I'm 24 years old and I was born in Chicago but raised in Guatemala.

Modeling experience: I've been modeling in Guatemala for almost 4 or 5 years. I've done fashion shows, magazines, beauty shoots, comercial, etc.

What is your biggest dream: My dream has always been having a career as a model, modeling is something I really enjoy doing.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful? For me being your own kind of beautiful is being authentic, embracing and loving each of your characteristics as a person. We are all beautiful.

How would you describe your fashion style? I would describe my style as playful, trendy, urban, confident and stylish.

What inspires you? What inspires me is success, following my dreams and achieving all the things I've always wanted in life.

Advice in someone that is just getting started with modeling? Be confident, and have your standards and follow your dreams.

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you? I've experienced many difficult obstacles in my life, but I truly believe this has made me the woman I'm now. I feel that I'm a strong woman with a strong personality that's always chasing her dreams.
