Tell us about yourself
My name is Madison, I'm 19 years old, and I'm from Bellevue, a small town in Michigan. I recently moved to Florida's west coast to attend college where I'm pursuing degrees in marketing and animal studies with a minor in communications. I'm passionate about my faith and sharing my testimony to encourage autoimmune disease warriors like myself. The last 3 years I've spent working in the beauty industry where I have the opportunity to help women feel confident in their skin, a feeling that took me years to accomplish. I have a heart for animals, the ocean, traveling, and meeting new people along the way.
Tell us about your modeling experience.
I am a Farmasi Beauty Influencer, so I am well versed in social media content creation and modeling for promotional posts. I have modeled for two boutiques including Rose Rock Closet and Undeniably Boutique where I'm featured on their website. While I haven't done much in the industry yet, I'm eager to gain more experience and build my portfolio.
What is your biggest dream?
My biggest dream is to fulfill God's purpose for my life and to follow my calling. As of right now I have a big dream of starting my own cosmetic company. I'm falling more and more in love with the beauty industry but I'm wanting to change the game. My goal is to offer products to my customers that will not only enhance their natural beauty but be a brand they can trust by cruelty free standards and banning toxic chemicals. Aside from a cosmetic brand, I've always imagined a clothing line inspired by my personal branding. In addition, I want to continue traveling the world, going on mission trips, sharing my faith, and inspiring people around the world. As far as modeling my height, psoriasis, and location growing up has always held me back from taking the leap of faith and trying something new. I'd love to be a part of commercial and print modeling but I'm excited for other opportunities that might arise.
What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?
To be your own kind of beautiful is to embrace what makes you unique and live your life to the fullest without fear of comparison or judgement. As long as YOU know your true beauty on the inside, that's all that matters.
How would you describe your fashion style?
I have different personalities and hobbies that bring out different styles. I enjoy experimenting but I would describe my fashion style as chic and feminine. I love western fashion, business casual, beach attire, and boho.
Who or what inspires you?
Ever since I was in middle school I've been inspired by Dolly Parton and Sadie Robertson. I admire Dolly Parton for going from rags to riches yet continuing to use her wealth for good. I look up to Sadie Robertson for being unapologetic in her faith and vulnerable in her spiritual battles.
What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?
Since I'm also just getting started with modeling I'm learning along the way. I've learned alot from being surrounded by my best friend, Sadie Earegood, who is an actress and model. What I've gathered most is to recognize each "no" is closer to the next "yes" so keep your head up and know you are beautiful and worthy of success.
Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.
One of the biggest obstacles I've overcome in life is learning to live with an autoimmune disease. Growing up with guttate psoriasis it took control over my life. The autoimmune disorder affected my confidence, self image, relationships, and immune system. The scariest part was stressing over my appearance and controlling my symptoms which only made the situation worse considering stress is a trigger. Through it all my family has stood by me and prayed for a cure. While there is still not a cure, I am currently in psoriasis remission and use my testimony to give others hope and encourage their faith.
What makes you beautiful/handsome?
What makes me beautiful is my passion for Jesus and his people, my kind heart, and desire to achieve anything I set my mind to.
What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?
Beauty isn't one size fits all and your worth is not determined by society's standards. What matters most is that you're a hard worker, you treat people with respect, and you have integrity. Your beauty should shine from within and not be based on physical appearance. Have confidence in knowing you're a good person and you have a purpose.
