Tell us about yourself?
My name is Zoey M, Puerto Rican living in Florida, I am 22 years old. I’m a mother of two sweet boys and a theme park performer. On my free time, my kids and I volunteer at our local community center.
Tell us about your modeling experience?
I grew up in a talented household, my mother was/is a MUA and beautician. I was always her model for many events she did. Thanks to her I gained confidence into the career path I have chosen.
What is your biggest dream?
My biggest dream was always to start a family, to which I have achieved. Now it is to inspire mother out there to reach their goals, children are NOT a set back nor are they a burden, they should be celebrated as well as the mother. After giving birth twice I felt the confidence to say “wow women CAN do anything and everything!”
What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?
A humble and kind personality makes a person beautiful. While looks can be appealing, there is nothing more beautiful than a man or woman who has a genuinely good heart.
How do you describe your fashion style?
Old money, elegant and feminine.
Who/ what inspires you?
My mother definitely does. She’s an entrepreneur, independent, strong woman. While getting her degrees and certification she raised three young girls and held a strong household.
What is your advice to someone who is getting started ?
Continue to grow and improve yourself, all while keeping love and kindness is your heart.
Describe some obstacles you have overcome… how did it shape you ?
My life has been full of obstacles but one that really taught me a good lesson is my chronic illness. When I was three, living in Puerto Rico, I was getting very sick, I saw many doctors and they could not understand what was wrong with me. Eventually my health started to decline and my family was told to leave the island and get better care in another state, so we moved to Florida to be seen by one of the best doctors in the USA. After many years of surgeries and hospital stays, I was diagnosed with a rare genetics disorder called ‘Ehlers Danlos Syndrome’ .. this changed my life forever, with no treatment and a guaranteed painful life, I fell into depression and lost hope. After a few years of almost losing, I was saved by Gods grace and he gave me the family I wished for, even after being told I would never live a normal life, I am living proof of a “normal chronically Ill” person!
What makes you beautiful?
Kindness, this makes us all glow.
What would you say to someone who is struggling in being confident?
It’s okay to feel this way, remember, confident takes time to build. Start by focusing on your strengths, setting small believable goals and celebrating your successes.
