Tell us about yourself
My name is Kayleigh, I'm a midwest native from Peoria Illinois which is about 2 hours from the vibrant city of Chicago. However, this past spring, I embarked on an exciting new chapter in my life and relocated to Denver Colorado. It was the best decision I could have made and I love it here so much!
Tell us about your modeling experience
I began freelance modeling when I was a teenager which ignited my passion for the industry. Since then, I've had the privilege of collaborating with various small businesses, showcasing their clothing, accessories, and phone cases, for their website listings. I've also had the opportunity to experience modeling bridal wear, I've worked with various midwest photographers, and videographers, on a wide range of projects, allowing me to continually evolve and refine my skills as a model. I've even participated in stock photo modeling and I've found my images being used for Amazon ads, album art, and even a cover of a book.
This diverse array of experiences has not only expanded my portfolio but has also taught me the importance of adaptability and creativity in the modeling industry. I am excited to bring this wealth of experience to new opportunities and continue to grow as a model.
What is your biggest dream?
I've always wanted to be a model, when I was young I would tell my teachers I wanted to be a Victoria's Secret Angel or Britney Spears when I grew up.
In addition to my love of modeling, attending music festivals, concerts, and events has always been a huge part of my life. I've had the privilege of working in Artist Relations/Hospitality and Social Media Management, gaining valuable experience in the vibrant world of music.
If I could somehow combine modeling. and live music, and turn that into my career, it would be a dream come true!
What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?
For me, being your own kind of beautiful is about embracing your uniqueness, celebrating your individuality, and recognizing that beauty is not confined to one mold. To be my own kind of beautiful means to be unapologetically myself, to stand confidently in my own skin, and to take pride in my flaws and imperfections. It's a commitment to self acceptance, self love, and the continuous journey of personal growth.
How would you describe your fashion style?
It really depends on the day! Sometimes you might find me layering different pieces together, sometimes I might be experimenting with mixing and matching patterns, to ultimately create an outfit that reflects my mood and inspiration that morning.
Who or what inspires you?
I find inspiration everywhere! Through iconic brands in fashion, through music, through art, and various artists and influencers. The list could go on, and on, and on. The beauty of this industry is that there's always something or someone new to discover and be inspired by.
What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?
To quote the best halloween movie there is (Halloweentown), "Magic is easy, you just have to want something and let yourself have it." Whatever you want in life can be yours if you just believe in yourself, let yourself have it. Research agencies in your area and find ones that align with your values and aspirations, and apply to as many open casting calls as you can. You never know what an agency is looking for and everyone brings something unique and special to this industry. It'll always be a "no" if you don't even try, so take chances, be persistent, and embrace the opportunities that come your way.
Describe some obstacles you have had to overcome in your life, and how that has changed or shaped you.
Throughout my life I have been diagnosed with a few mental disorders that make each day a different kind of challenge. But, I've come to realize that being diagnosed with a mental disorder is not the end of the world. In fact, it has been a profound catalyst for personal growth. While some days are undeniably harder than others, these experiences have shaped me into a more compassionate, resilient, and determined person. These every day challenges have shown me I can face adversity head-on and emerge stronger on the other side.
What makes you beautiful?
I feel what makes me beautiful is that I wholeheartedly cherish the people in my life, going above and beyond to support them, while also recognizing the significance of extending the same kindness and affection towards myself, even though that can be challenging at times. I recognize that I must fill my cup up before I can fill others.
What would you say to another person your age who is struggling with their confidence?
You are beautiful the way you are. You are a unique, and special individual, who is loved and is deserving of love for being yourself. It's essential to remember that the only person who can truly hold you back from being confident and sure of yourself is you. Embrace your uniqueness, be kind to yourself, and believe in your worth. Confidence grows from self-love, and self-acceptance, and when you realize how incredible you are there's nothing that can hold you back!
