Tell us about yourself

- My name is Kiiantay. I am 24 years old and I am from New jersey. Ever since I was younger I have always dreamed of being a model/ fashion designer because I wanted to see my ideas come to fruition. However, I never stopped hoping they would come true. I just continue to push myself each day to make sure it does. I am very athletic and participated in many sports but my focus now is inspiring others to go after everything they want while building a community and healing my students while teaching yoga.  I've always known I wanted to help others but I never knew how until I started doing the things that make me happy.

Tell us about your modeling experience.

- I recently started modeling a year ago and since then I have modeled for two hair companies (Nutique, It's A Wig), walked in two fashion shows ( The Model Experience, Brooklyn fashion week), modeled for UGG, Asphalt New York, Macy's and Mecca Luxury. I look forward to taking my modeling career to new heights with experiences that bring me out of my comfort zone.

What is your biggest dream?

- My biggest dream is to travel. I have always wanted to travel to different places and experience what the world has to offer. I would love to see myself on billboards modeling for different brands that correlate with the message I want to send to the individuals I aspire to inspire, while also in magazines and walking the runway in different parts of the world.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

- Being your own kind of beautiful to me  has nothing to do with the way you look and more about the way you treat others. Someone can be very beautiful but horrible to other people. Being kind while also being your true self not worrying about what others may think of you is being your own kind of beautiful.

How would you describe your fashion style?

- I LOVE LOVE LOVE this question because my style is very versatile. I am not stuck or confined to one type of style. I like to wear what makes me feel good or confident. I am also open to new styles or creativity.

Who or what inspires you?

 -  I believe this is a loaded question because it's not just who inspires me because it isn't just one individual. My parents inspire me everyday to be the best version of myself and do the things that I want in life that make me happy.. while my students teach me that I am constantly learning and although everything isn't all figured out now it is okay because each day is a new opportunity to start over.

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?

- REJECTION IS REDIRECTION it is okay if you don't get every model casting you apply for as long as you know you are being true to yourself the right people will find you.

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.

- When I first began modeling I had no idea what to say or do because this industry can be very supportive or very competitive. I felt lost but slowly I started to pull myself out of my comfort zone and build up the courage to support even in competitive settings because everyone's a winner. I can say that this has humbled me.

What makes you beautiful/handsome?

- What makes me beautiful is my big heart. I can admit that sometimes I am a little too nice when I shouldn't be but I believe that the energy you put out will come back even greater when your intentions are pure.

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?

- Excuse my french but F *** EM' nobody outside of you can decide whats best for you. Be who you are and be that well, you can't please everyone but you will always be the best for those who are meant to be in your life. The perceptions others have of you is really a reflection of them. So, DO NOT allow them to fertilize or plant seeds in your head with negativity. Find security in yourself first so no one can tell you... about YOU.
