Tell us about yourself

Hi, my name is Addisen C. I’m 19 years old and live in Grand Rapids, MI! I’m a big reader and love being outdoors. I am studying Psychology and am in my second year of college right now. I spend a lot of time with my friends and family and love traveling. I’m a big advocate for spreading love and kindness to those around you because you never truly know what someone may be going through in life.

Tell us about your modeling experience.

Until recently, I haven’t done much modeling but have always loved taking photos with my friends and coming up with fun ideas for shoots. Besides that I have not done anything big but I am excited to get into this industry!

What is your biggest dream?

My biggest dream is to become accomplished and successful. I’m not sure exactly what path I’ll take to get there yet but I know I want to have a career that is centered around helping those in need.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

Being your own kind of beautiful is loving yourself and your body unconditionally. It can be really easy to compare yourself to others around you but being your own kind of beautiful is being able to appreciate others while feeling confident in your own skin.

How would you describe your fashion style?

My fashion style really depends on the day. As a college student, being comfortable is a must. However, I will never pass on an opportunity to get all dressed up for a night.

Who or what inspires you?

My grandma is my biggest inspiration. Living with her the last two years  has introduced me to a whole new world of self love and care. She is a very successful business woman and always strives to do her best. She is always there with open arms and I have truly never met someone who lifts me up as much as she does.

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?

As someone who is just getting started with modeling myself, I know it can be a really nerve racking experience. Rise above rejection and negativity and stay true to who you are and please give yourself grace.

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.

I have gone through a lot of challenges, especially throughout my childhood and into my teenage years. I would like to think that these obstacles have shaped me into the strong person I am today and have made me more aware of how I want to treat others throughout my life.

What makes you beautiful/handsome?

It may sound cliche, but I believe what makes me beautiful is my heart. I think that beauty is usually something that people think is physical when really that’s only a part of it. I would like to think that the love I give to those around me is what makes me beautiful.

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?

I have struggled with confidence my entire life and I am just now learning to love myself and my body. Engaging in negative self talk is the worst thing you can do to yourself and in order to become confident in yourself. Reminding yourself what you love about you is the most important thing you can do to truly feel confident, remember to take it one day at a time.
