Tell us about yourself

My name is Sydney, but everyone I know calls me Syd. I’m from Houston, TX! I love fashion, nature, and pickles! My favorite colors are yellow and green.

Tell us about your modeling experience.

I started my own freelance modeling in January of 2020. After that I began shooting at least three times per weekend, where I gained experience in front of the camera and simultaneously got more comfortable/confident. After just networking & shooting to get myself out there I started to creative direct my own shoots & make/build sets! I even got to style myself and help style other fellow models.

What is your biggest dream?

My biggest dream is to be able to accomplish my goals of getting paid to do what I love (being creative). My dream doesn’t stop there though, once I’ve made it to my goal I’d like to help bring others up who also have similar dreams and make new paths for them as the people before me have done.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

I think being your own kind of beautiful has a lot to do with your own inner security. Not letting the world & others dictate your beauty and tell you what beauty is or should be, but seeing your own unique beauty & choosing to stand in that beauty.

How would you describe your fashion style?

I would say my fashion style is very broad. I love to play around with colors/patterns etc… & other things that some people might think are weird. I also am just very confident so I feel like even if others think it looks ugly or weird, I could pull it off.

Who or what inspires you?

Life inspires me because it’s so beautiful and knowing that we only have limited time here inspires me to make the most of it. My friends, other creatives, kind people, & nature also inspire me.

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?

My advice to someone just starting to model would be to believe in yourself! Because is you don’t, how will you expect others to? I would also say to know your worth and don’t do anything you don’t want to do. The right opportunities and people will come at the right moments

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.

Heartbreak was an obstacle for me that once I overcame, it shaped me in new ways. I realized I had given so much of my time and energy to something else that I left myself empty. So after that, I decided to start pouring into myself the way I do others. I started going after all the things I wanted and taking my power back into my own hands.

What makes you beautiful/handsome?

I think what makes us beautiful/handsome is  our confidence & energy. Also, being able to stand firm in your own unique beauty/energy.
